Hell, I'm supposed to be packing for a family trip but this thread is a LOT more interesting.

I've personally always been in the Chris Klein camp, the whole situation was so odd. And yes the ever deflatable/inflatable baby bump was always bizarre. Then there's the fact that NO ONE saw that baby for months. hmmm

But now seeing the Hartnett photos(how did I NOT know she was with Hartnett in between Klein and Cruise?? Where in the world was I??) oh my god, she looks so much like a cross between him and Katie it's scary.

I'm assuming(as is my husband, stepmother and a couple other friends) that the quick divorce/child custody issue was handled so quickly because she was willing to go public with the info. No father gives sole custody, especially one that is so hands on with their child, unless mama has something on daddy that daddy doesn't want the world to know.

And no, it's not that they were being civil. There's no such thing as that civil of a divorce, especially a hollywood divorce THAT high profile.

I so love Katie these days it's not even funny. Smart cookie, that one.

Gosh, it's so weird that all 3 of these guys have similarities that any of them could be the dad. She looks just like Katie so there's no telling.

I think Suri was carried by a surrogate, thus the belly was NEVER real.

I'm not sure about birthdate and paternity. I've read that newborns tend to look like their fathers, more even than they will later. If that's accurate (it's been that way with my kids) then I think she looks most like Josh Hartnett, much more than Tom or Chris Klein. Or maybe she's Katie's clone.

I truely think that for Katie, that when Tom approached her - OMG TOM CRUISE the guy she had a serious teenage crush on - that she was giddy and impulsive and threw caution to the wind.

Fast forward 4 1/2 - 5 years, I'm in the camp that leaving has been in the works for months now and she excuted the escape perfectly, that she is now wiser and wasn't awe struck like she was back then.

Hind sight is 50/50.

My first totally looks like me but I am a first (only) and I look like my Dad. My cousins (2 different ones) their first looks like Dad too.

Genetics are weird..there is no set thing in regards to who the child will favor (heck traits from Grandparents and Aunts and Uncles can pop in there too..my oldest looks like me except eye color..his are exactly the same color as my Dad but not me or DH).

Softened the blow of his nose made me laugh.
Both of my boys look exactly like DH. You wouldn't know I was their mother.

As for the conspiracy, I always thought that Kate was already pregnant. My theory is that she agreed to pretend Tom is Suri's father because of Chris Klein's alcoholism. He admitted that he was out of control. Maybe she didn't want Suri growing up with that instability.

She has to have something on Cruise. She just enrolled Suri in Catholic school. The Scientologists must be having heart failure right about now.

Whoever the dad is, they make good kids as Suri is a beautiful little girl.

As much as I dislike Tom Cruise, I really hope he is Suri's father. This girl is going to grow up surrounded by these rumors and she will likely want DNA testing to see if they are lying to her. If she finds out Tom isn't her bio dad and they knew this all along, she'll likely disown both of them.

Apparently he grew up thinking Desi Arnez Jr. was his father (was adopted by John Astin as a child and considers him his real father). He later had DNA testing done and learned his father was someone entirely different (Michael Tell)....so I am thinking misinformation about the biological father is nothing new in Hollywood and Sean has no issues with his Mom because of it.

I do think there is quite a simple explanation of how Mimi Rogers could claim that Tom Cruise was infertile, yet he could go on to father a biological child in Suri (and I guess I have no clue from looking at Suri and him whether or not he is the bio father...could go either way IMO). Anyway, he was divorced from Mimi in 1990. In the late 1990's (I haven't a clue when it was actually invented...whether 1996 or 1997 ), infertility doctors invented a new method of extracting sperm directly from the testicles which were then used to directly fertilize eggs retrieved for IVF. I know it was "new" procedure when we used it in 1999...had only been around for (at most) 1 or 2 years. It was groundbreaking, cutting edge stuff and allowed people who otherwise were infertile to have biological children. My DH's sperm count via the old fashioned method was ZERO, and yet they were able to retrieve sufficient sperm from his testicles (surgical procedure performed on an outpatient basis) to fertilize the eggs which later became my children.

More than you cared to know, but it would definitely explain why Tom could not seemingly father children with either of his first two wives, but could with the third.
