I Was wondering what the area outside of Disneyland was like at Night. Walking down Harbor to Katella ......For Example walking from the Fairfield to McCormick and Shmicks................Does it feel safe?

We had no problems.... Its very well lit and always a lot of people, even past midnight...

Safer than Ocean City. I don't think you should worry.

My only issue walking down South Harbor is that some dude made a pass at me. Which would have been fine, if he had been my type. Alas, he was not. He would not buzz off, so I made if perfectly clear that I was just walking down the street trying to mind my own business. He finally got it. Geese! And you know, that happened on my first evening, near my hotel. My nice, peaceful walk, lasted about 10 minutes, before becoming mashed upon. After that incident though, no other dudes bothered me... Good! Now if you are pulling in serious money, love Disney, horses, and are driving a red Ferrari convertible that has a tan leather interior, then I will meet you right over there....
You should be fine, I so far, have been. And lately I have been visiting the land by my self.

It is so populated and well lit, you won't be scared.
Unless you're out at 3am (which may still be crowded, I don't know!) you will be out there with the rest of the tourists going up and down the street.

Again, it is safe. There are always people out walking to their hotels after being in DLR all day. I have walked from Katella, down Harbor, to Ball, past midnight alone and never felt unsafe. Of course I didn't do that whole walk at once, but collectively that's where I generally stay when going to DLR. I would say that the Katella side feels a bit safer than the Ball side. More people stay in that direction, and the hotels/motels on the Ball side are lower budget than the ones towards Katella. Also, there's some houses/apartments on Ball close to motels.
Ok, I am rambling on....overall. Yes. It is safe. :)

Felt very safe..at the corner of Harbor and.um..wherever you turn to get to the Convention Center, one night there was a guy there with a small group who had bibles and the one guy was all wrapped in chains and jangling them at people and screaming very loudly about sin..etc.....ooooookkkkk. still, not bad (Of course I used to work on the Vegas and Reno strips so it takes alot :) )

Did you take pictures? I would have. I like interesting characters. :rotfl:

No, really.

I really should have..it was on the edge of scary, but not quite.

Oh darn... well maybe next time. On the scary side, can especially be allot of fun during the month of October, particularly on Halloween. Oh how I love the Halloween season.

overall ...yes it is!! a few times we have encounted some craziness. one time a lady who yelled at us for sitting on "her" bench.. hahah but this was in the daylight. she literally scared us! she was insane and then began swearing at us and saying move or else! But other than thattt...as people have mentioned so many people are out and walking to their hotel that you are pretty much surrounded by other dlanders. so i'd say yeah the walk is fine

Did you take any pictures of the crazies? Just wondering....

If you are susceptible to homeless Disney kittens...it's possibly very dangerous...

I also saw a possum once--but that was on HOJO grounds.

Ah... they are all cute cats. Yours and the Dis. So far, I have only seen one kitty, that was last month. It was a big beautiful white cat. It was during the evening, at Disneyland near Frontier Land.

Go downstairs at the Hungry Bear restaurant, keep going until you get to the end of the tables - keep an eye out for the beautiful cats! :goodvibes Some are friendly, some are, er, kind of 'scabby' (territorial tykes that they are - they must fight over who gets to eat 'The Mouse' at night. :lmao:) Actually, they honestly do leave Mickey Mouse alone... I know, because I see him in the parks everywhere we go. They don't like the taste of his polyester pants, I think. (Makes me wonder why they don't go for Donald - heck, he doesn't wear even pants. Oh yeah, his little sailor jacket must be the deterrent for them.) We love, love seeing the cats over there, it is a huge part of our trip. Sad, but true... we miss our own kitties when we go away, so we have to get our cat fix in. Also - look for resident cat Daisy at the White Water Snacks area, apparently she likes to hang out there. She's a tabby cat. We took a photo of one sitting in a canoe before, while we were going by on the Mark Twain.
