Karamell-Küche why does no one speak of you?

Mmmm. Nothing like prepackaged candy you can buy in any grocery store for half the price. And the stuff in the case is very expensive.

I adore caramel and I don't waste any time in there.

Wow, we don't have this stuff in our grocery stores! Where do you live, I might consider relocating! ;)

Our experience has been that the candy items are very good, but the baked goods ......do not taste fresh or high quality. Keep trying a few every trip though . The caramel corn has never disappointed.

It most certainly does! I actually found it hit or miss - my brownie with caramel topping tasted previously frozen and very dry. But the caramels covered in milk and dark chocolate were amazing...I mean....amazing. DROOL. Will definitely be hitting up again in a few weeks! I'm sure there are other things that are just as fab and not as dry as the brownie...I'm gonna check it out, being the good Dis'er I am and report ;)

I agree! I love their dark chocolate covered caramels with sea salt and their apple, caramel, oatmeal cookies, but got a cupcake that tasted very stale and dry, like it was left out from the previous day. Something else we like, that sounds strange are the chocolate covered grapes.

Where do you live???? We've seen Werthers candy sold in just about every grocery store, corner store and gas station in just about every town we've ever been to in Canada. :confused3

I agree with Deb & Bill. The prepackaged stuff can be bought much cheaper at home. And the stuff behind glass, for the most part, isn't all THAT great and not worth the price.

Same deal with cupcakes at WDW. They *look* fantastic, but they usually don't live up to tastebud expectations.:earsboy:

I don't think most people go there to buy the bags of Werther's candies.

The baked goods are not very good. The caramel filled cookie I had was VERY good, but the brownie and cupcake I had from there I tossed in the trash after a couple bites. VERY dry and tasteless.

The actual Caramel hand made candies are AMAZING, and definitely worth the price. The dark chocolate sea salt caramels are the best combination of caramel and chocolate that I've ever tasted. I am a HUGE fan of dark chocolate covered caramels and try them everywhere. None are even close to as good as these. The caramel marshmallow rolls are also fabulous!

Milk chocolate covered caramel with sea salt...'Nuffield said!

I have to agree with other posters that the baked good are disappointing. Although I had one when the place first opened that I liked, but can't remember what it was. The fruit we have found very good.

How well would the chocolate covered caramels w/seasalt travel? I would like to bring some home for coworkers and friends, but I'm unsure from the description how long they would stay fresh or if they would melt.

LOL

I am surprised of such little mention on the DIS of a fabulous little shop at Epcot's Germany, Karamell-Küche. Amazing Werthers caramel infused desserts, saw it (ate it) when we were at the world last time. Tried to search it on the DIS with no results. It is barely mentioned on AllEars.net.

Does it still exist and is it as fab as previously experience?

Do tell!

Inga

I love their fresh made caramel popcorn. Have to buy it every time I go to Disney!!!!

There are Werther's candies in our stores also but the items in the case are what is amazing!! Love the caramel pecan clusters!!!!:)

I don't buy Werthers wrapped candy at this place, that is everywhere and common, and yes, commonplace everywhere, including Canada. Generally not interested in a basic Werthers candy. This store has so much more than that. Have you not been to this place? This is not our basic candy store.

Thank you! Do people really think I am going on and on about a place that sells basic wrapped candies....Jeesh....sometimes I find the DIS a very difficult place to post opinions!

Thanks again

Inga

I think there's plenty of love for that lovely place!
For one--the smell when you enter, heaven.
The bakery case is the best one in Epcot I think.

We love it there, never miss it.

I love Karamell-kuche we get a rocky road apple and have the cut it. It is most delicious!

Hmmm...caramel & chocolate covered strawberries, caramel roll with marshmallow Creme and milk chocolate caramel with sea salt. Makes me drool just thinking about the treats. So can't wait for November to get me some. *sighs*

It will depend on the season. We went in April a couple years ago and it was 90 degrees. We had to eat our treats right then and there or they'd melt. (Oh, darn, lol!) If you travel in the winter though, I would imagine many of their offerings would travel just fine.

Oh my! This is one of my favorite places. I dream about the fresh caramel corn.
