Kama!!

It wasn't his grandfather. It was one of the women short track skaters. Her grandfather and several other family members traveled with her to Italy and he had a sudden heart attack and died on Friday. It was so sad watching her skate last night--she was standing at the start line with tears running down her face. :guilty:

By the way, I'm fairly new to the DIS so maybe someone could fill me in on this thread. Is someone here actually related to Apolo :confused3

I LOVE him and that would be so cool if I could even say that I DIS with someone who knows him :worship:

Thanks for correcting me. I saw Ono's picture next to the headline and thought that the grandpas were dropping like flies all of a sudden! I had read the story about the young woman's grandfather passing away yesterday. Glad to hear that all is well in Apollo's family!

Alas, no not a relative, just a silly fan that's watched his career over the last few years and been rather vocal about it here on the Dis... :blush:

I have to say, while watching these Olympics, I'm reminded of what it was about him that caught my attention in the first place. Well, besides the skin suit that is. :rolleyes:

Without fail, he again displayed such grace (GRACE, Pammy!! Heh heh) and maturity throughout every situation he found himself in. What a breath of fresh air he is, after so many of the diva 'tudes we've seen this time around. Look at that second picture! What a sweet look of disbelief!

I can't believe I'm going to admit this(and I know Kama will never let me forget it) Apolo is rather cute.

Watching her last night was difficult wasn't it? I commend her for going out there, that was very courageous and I'm sure what her grandfather would've wanted her to do. Broke my heart to see her tears.

I missed seeing him skate, in fact I haven't watched too much of the Olympics this year due to the "Diva's" whom are NOT by the way. :crazy2:

This was the most exciting race of the games. We didn't know the results and I was so happy for him... :thumbsup2

His hard work did pay off. As far as body parts....Didn't he have charming smile and some lovely white teeth :teeth:
