Kali River Rapids ??

Doing AK in July only for the 2nd time. Didn't get to do Kali River last time. Questions - does this attraction have Fastpass and does the ride offer the covered plastic "center" to protect your belongings?

Yes, this is a fastpass attraction...

And yes, the rafts do have the covered center, however on our last adventure, my backpack got pretty wet. I think, maybe, there was water in it from a previous trip and I didn't check, because the plastic was closed all the way through our trip. So just check before you throw anything in there.

Also, on our most recent trip, there were signs posted everywhere that you most wear your shoes during the ride, so wear sandals/tevas that day!

Thanks for the info KMH on having to wear your shoes on the ride. I have been trying to get my son to get some waterproof sandals to wear to AK for just that ride. He keeps saying that he will just take off his shoes and put them in the middle. Now, after I tell him about your post, maybe he will go get something else. He wants to wear his Birkenstocks but I'm afraid that they will ruin if they get wet.

The one and only time I went on it I got SOAKED!!!! Way too wet for me, so now I hold everything. If you see a woman with tons of bags just throw yours on top, I'll watch your too!!! LOL!!!

When I went on this ride with my DD, we got so soaked that we had to go back to WL to get changed. Her skin got so red and irritated from walking around wet for the hour before I came to my senses and dragged her out of the park. I doubt that I will ever go on this ride again. It was over too quickly and needed too much explaining--I found that DD didn't quite "get" the specifics of the environmental theme. When you put that with the soaking...once is enough for me!

musicmom3, try it in July some time ... it's GREAT!! I am looking forward to going on it many times on our trip -- 24 days!!

Anyone know anything about good sandals? i need a pair for the trip. Teva is good?
