My first fitting went great! I was really nervous about a couple of things:

1) It was super hard to find someone to work on my dress. I bought it off the rack and they gave me the name of a lady, but that was like a year ago. I had found an upscale boutique but they were going to charge me $100 just to work on the dress let alone the actual cost of alterations .

2) I bought the dress a year ago after I had lost about 15 lbs and I gained a few pounds over the course of the year so I've been working hard to get back to the weight I was when I bought the dress (which fit like a glove when I purchased it).

3) I was afraid I might put it on and not like it, lol.

Well, I called the shop where I bought the dress and they gave me the name of the lady they recommended again. I called her and it turns out she is a teacher and just does alterations on the side. I set up an appointment and my mom came over and brought the dress and we went to the lady's house this morning. She was super nice and we could tell right away that she knew what she was doing, plus she has worked on my dress before! Big sigh of relief!

I put the dress on and it fit...HUGE sigh of relief! So she will be hemming it, putting in a bustle, and taking in the bust a little for around $200, which I thought was a great deal. Oh, and I still love the dress! So it was an all around good day.

My poor mom was so upset because she brought her camera, but the battery was dead. So, we had to use my cell phone to take pics and my mom has never used a smart phone so that was interesting, but pics are below for your viewing pleasure:

I love the back...I think it really helps eliminate the back fat issue when the back in a little lower like that...I saw it on weddingbee and I thought the idea was genius!

Lol, I didn't realize at first just how blingy it was. I kind of bought the dress on impulse because it was such a good deal, but I really do love it. And of course you're welcome to come watch!

She sent me a proof of our favor cards, but I wanted a couple of changes, so I'm just waiting to hear back from her. Unfortunately, I have had most of my other Etsy purchases sent to my MOH in Tampa so I don't have pics. I might still post the sample photos... I wish I had a cupcake right now, lol. Oh, and I'm glad you liked the transport pics! Its such a great program.

Adam and I went on our annual pilgrimage to see Jimmy Buffett last night. He actually came to Little Rock this year. Usually we go down to Dallas--it was great to see him here at home. I'm still recovering, but I will try to update the PJ this weekend.

Okay, Im completely caught up on your plans and I am IN LOVE with everything! Your locations, dresses, food/drink choices (totally agree about the boat drinks and the necessity for some flair in them), your cake is going to be amazing, and the invites are gorgeous! Your flowers are going to be PERFECT! I had Elizabeth also and she was magnificent...she really went above and beyond for us. Your whole theme for the wedding is going to be perfect! If we wouldnt have done the traditional style, I would have for sure chosen so many of the things you have! Im seriously in love! Time needs to hurry up for you so I can see how GORGEOUS its going to be!!

I know I said I would update this weekend, but I lied. We did buy welcome bags and stuff to put in them though, so I will do my best to update at some point this week.

We also ordered this for our wine/letter ceremony:

With our initials and date. I had bought a box for $10 at Hobby Lobby but then I made the mistake of going on Etsy. Why spend $10 when you can spend $90? Seriously though, the one I got at Hob Lob was ok but nothing special and it didn't really tie in to our scheme in any way.

I also bought this:

We aren't doing a garter toss, but I still wanted one.

And last but not least I ordered one of these too:

In dark wood. Oh, and our TV that was only 1.5 years old stopped working last night...I blame Real Steel, but apparently some of the units have faulty power supplies and it was out of the warranty (of course), so we bought a new TV--no pic of that, but it is an LED and we really like it. We're going to get a quote on fixing the other one, but if its more than $300, we'll probably junk it *sigh*

So that was actually an update. Yay me! Lol, I also got a proof back on our favor cards, but I want to wait til its final to post it, but I LOVE them!

Oh, and one more thing--I bought these Downy Unstoppables and you add them into your laundry when you put it in the washer and it makes the laundry smell AMAZING! If you like a scent to your laundry I highly recommend them, but go easy on them or they'll be really strong. Ok, that is all.

We're doing a wine/letter ceremony too! Except we have to tweek it a bit because DF can't consume alcohol, but I LOVE that box! I was looking them up on etsy too, it's a money pit buuut will probably go with one from hobby lobby & switch out hardware make it to lock (hopefully). I love your purchases!
