Justine & Adam 4-21-12 SBP/LSS/SCP--Updated 9/30

Sorry I chimed in about the shoes and didnt comment on anything else! I am losing my mind these days! I LOVE the idea of the pre-RSVP. Wish I had thought of that but may still do it!! Love your brochures too, so helpful!!
I'll have to check in on you more often! :wizard:

yay for 7 months!! just think how bad you'll freak at 7 weeks :rolleyes1

cape may would be fun. it's a really good breakfast and the characters are fun in their beach gear :) another more laid back option would be captain's grille--but i think cape may is great!!

hope you get to feeling better soon!!

I will check out the Captain's Grille when we are down in November. I can't even imagine how excited/crazy I will be at 7 weeks outs :scared1:

Ohhh! Hooray for 7 months!!! Once you get to your planning session the time will fly by. :cool1:

I really love your shoes! They are so beautiful.

I'm doing a rehearsal brunch, as well. I think it's actually going to work out better than a dinner, because we are serving such a heavy dinner at the wedding, I didn't want two in a row. I think we'd roll away! :rotfl: We're doing a morning rehearsal and then going to brunch at 11:30 and then we have the whole rest of the day to goof around, which I think our guests are looking forward to. So, I say go for Cape May Cafe--It sounds great!! :yay:

And feel better!!!

Thanks! Yeah, I am all about the food, but like you said, I don't want to overly stuff everyone.

Yay! Less than 7 months now! :thumbsup2 When's your planning session? Ours is Oct 14th. :)

We are doing our PS Nov. 8 :thumbsup2 Yours is coming up really soon!!

7 mths!!! :cool1::banana::yay::dance3::cheer2:
I just read ur entire Pj... nice dress :thumbsup2 ... I arrive at disney the day of ur wedding, mayb i will take a sneak peek :rolleyes1 ... everything is coming along nicely... ur wedding is 2 days b4 mines :woohoo:

You're welcome to sneak a peek :)

What a great steal!! I am addicted to Pinterest, and someone posted these "sole mate" heel savers- they are like plastic you put on the bottom of your heel so they can't get stuck in boards, grass, etc. I've gotten some for myself and my maids! Just a thought! :cool1:

Wow, those are really cool! I have only been to SBP once before so I am going to check it out again in depth this November and I will definitely order some if needed! Oh, and I just started using Pinterest earlier this week and I am loving it! I wonder if we could access it at my PS?

The pre-rsvp is only helpful if people respond. I think we had enough people respond to get an idea of what our acceptance rate will be.

On another note--I have been trying to find the perfect bridal hanger on Etsy....there are so many choices I feel like I'm on hanger overload!

Some of friends recently got me hooked on pinterest and I love all the ideas people put on there! I wonder too if we could access it! I'm having my PS next Tues 10/4, I'll find out and report back!!

Hanger-- I got one from Etsy and I am in LOVE with it, she did an amazing job!! It actually came from Canada and it came super fast (arrived on my door less than a week after placing my order). She also has a facebook page so if you "like" her page, she gives you 20% off! :goodvibes

Oh please do let me know if you can access your pinterest, that would make things so easy! Wow, you must be super excited about your PS!!!!

I'm still cruising for a hanger, lol

So I took the day off from work because I worked a charity yard sale for the the Shelter Saturday (we made 2k!) and I felt like I needed a day to lay around, watch Vampire Diaries, and just generally be lazy, lol.

I decided to try my reception dress on just to make sure it still fits because I have really fallen off the healthy eating wagon lately--but good news! It fits....well as well as it ever did, it needs some serious tailoring in the bust, but it isn't too small and that's what really matters :thumbsup2

I tried on the cute shoes I bought and they are a completely different color. I don't think I really appreciated the difference between white and diamond white, and ivory, etc, etc. Well, I do now! My Maggie reception dress is like blindingly white and my Allure ceremony dress is more ivory/diamond white. So I will def need new/different shoes for the reception. I found these which are similar to the others and come in a very pretty purple color:

1635618-t-THUMBNAIL.jpg

Not the best pic, but oh well....the are Culver by Nina. I will also have to order another headband in the ivory color. I just love it so much and don't want a different one, but I am going to wait to order another until after the hair trial in November. That way I will know how well it wears and if it is do-able for me or MOH to switch them out ourselves between the ceremony and reception.

Well, that's all I know for now, lol. Hope everyone had a good Monday!

Yikes, I missed the 6 month mark, lol! Oh well, less than 6 months to go!!!! We are getting ready for our PS on Nov. 8. I'm so happy because my MOH will get to come with us. She moved down to Tampa earlier this year, but wasn't sure if her new job would allow her time off...crazy pharmacists. I will try to write a better update tomorrow, but I wanted to let ya'll know I hadn't fallen off the face of the earth!

We leave for our vacation/PS trip in one week!!! I’m so excited! Its like that older Disney commercial when the kid is like “I’m too excited to sleep!” here’s a link to that cute commercial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b95oyhSd5ls&feature=related

We leave on Sunday, November 6 and come back Sunday, November 13. Our PS is Tuesday, Nov. 8 and my birthday is Saturday, Nov 12!!! I think I might make a record with the number of exclamation points in one post, lol. We’re staying in a studio at the Beach Club Villas. Here’s our plans (I kept them kid of loose since we have been so many times, I’m not commando like I used to be):

Sunday, Nov. 6. Arrive 11:30; DHS/Fantasmic 6:30; 8:00 pm dinner in EPCOT Coral Reef
Monday, Nov. 7 Animal Kingdom; done by 5. Wishes at 8pm; Ohana at 6:50pm
Tuesday, Nov. 8—planning session day; MVMCP
Wednesday, Nov. 9 DHS am/EPCOT pm (EMH) Illum. 9pm dinner; 7:50pm Rose & Crown
Thursday, Nov. 10 hair trial 8 am; MK am; pool; Food and Wine, Jellyrolls—Osborne Lights start
Friday, Nov. 11 Cape May b-fast 8:50am; water park?
Saturday, Nov. 12 birthday! Narcoossees dinner at 7:45pm pm; wishes at 10 from Sago Cay
Sunday, Nov. 13—home

This is the first time in forever that we haven’t used the dining plan, but we plan to buy the TIW card and I think it will serve us just as well, if not better.

I got my haircut on Thursday and I LOVE it, but she took off some length that I was hoping to have for the hair trial. I really don’t know what I’m going to do with my hair! I want it down and curled….I guess I will take some pics and see what the lady from Beaute Speciale think. Anyone have any suggestions for cute styles for shorter hair? My hair touches my shoulders….I should take a picture, lol.

If anyone else is going to be around while we are down there, I’m totally up for a disbrides meet! :cool1:

I’m a little afraid that I will be tempted to go crazy at the PS. Does anyone have tips for reining it in? I refuse to go over our budget (30k), but there are so many things I want (insert Veruca Salt song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wzr12gBrXA8 ) I just know the DF will be easy to sway, I guess I should instruct my MOH to be the strong one. She’s was actually in another Disney wedding a year or so ago, so I think she will have a good perspective on what is important from a guest’s perspective.

Any tips for making the PS as beneficial as possible? Is it possible to speak with someone from Disney Photography?

Hi there! So jealous you're going down soon (even though we just got back!) Sorry I didn't report back on Pinterest- I'm such a space case!! My planner actually didn't know about Pinterest, or my floral planner, but they seemed to love it and all the ideas I had gotten off of it. We didn't actually look at my page though, so I would save whatever pins you have to your computer, upload them to like a snapfish, print them and bring them all with you. Definitely the more you bring the better.

My planner really kept things on track, we went over so many things there really wasn't time to add in more and I actually forgot a bunch and ended up emailing her later! DEFINITELY don't eat beforehand, not sure if youre doing it in the morning or afternoon, we did ours at 1PM, we finished at 6PM and still didn't eat until the next day (no need for dinner). I would also recommend trying to get your hands on fabric swatches if you have your girls dresses picked out, pictures of the dresses and what youre looking to do with the guys etc. The food you must have already picked I assume with your planning worksheet? That goes by relatively quickly too, you're there for 90 minutes and it feels like 30. They also won't really give you pricing while you're there so you'll have no idea how close you're getting to your goal. We're still waiting for our BEO and we had ours on 10/1 I think it was? Hopefully soon we'll get ours and see how costly our choices are!! :goodvibes

Can't wait to hear all about it!! :yay:

Many people go all out 4 their PS but when they get there BEO they just cut out things... i personally think it sucks they dont have pricing up front & u have 2 wait 4 the BEO... I luv the disney dining plan bcuz we did not have 2 worry about how much the food would cost bcuz it was already paid 4... wear a birthday button while ur down there, hopefully u will get extra perks while ur there :goodvibes

We're off bright and early tomorrow for the World, wish us luck!! I will try and post while I'm down there, but if not, I will do it asap when we get back. Ok, now off to watch the Hogs beat South Carolina some more....Woo Pig Sooie!!!

Justine,

Just wanted to say that it was great to meet you and Adam on the boatride to Epcot.

Hope that the rest of your trip was magical. Can't wait to read the rest of your plans.

Have fun!!!!

Thank you, we had a great time!!

Justine,

It was so awesome to meet you!!! "It's a small world, after all...."

So, we are back...actually we have been back since last Sunday, but I had a lot to catch up on at work. I hope to start and abbreviated TR and review of our PS this weekend, so stay tuned!! :surfweb:

We had a wonderful time on our vacation…..and it was a desperately needed vacation!! I feel so much more human now and less of a crazed stress-monster. We got to Orlando around 11:30 am, which means we left home around 6 am—I am always up for getting up early to arrive early.

We rented points to stay in a studio at the Beach Club Villas. We choose this resort mainly for the proximity to EPCOT and we were banking on really liking it because I have already booked us a two bedroom villa for the days leading up to the wedding for me, DF, and my parents and granny. Fortunately we LOVED it!! I can’t even express how wonderful it is to walk in and out of EPCOT. The boat service to Hollywood Studios was really nice too. We have always had a fairly good experience with the bus system, but it was nice being able to avoid it 50% of the time.
So we hopped of the magical express and a nice lady met us and walked us into the front desk for us to check in. I thought this was really nice and although we have stayed deluxe before (at AKL) and DVC before (at OKW) I’ve never had that happen before.

Side note—the lobby smells soooooo good. Whatever scent they are pumping in there, I want to take a bath in it. Seriously, I would walk through the lobby just so I could experience the smell. Not everything was a walk in the park though; we did have a few snafus.

Our room wasn’t ready, which I kind of expected because we arrived at noon. We checked our bags and headed off to redeem our AP vouchers, buy a Tables in Wonderland card, and eat lunch at the FWF. It took probably 30 mins to do the administrative stuff. Mainly because we got in one line to redeem our vouchers and then they sent us over to another line to buy the TIW card. Oh, I also got a birthday button (although my bday wasn’t until the following Saturday) and those buttons are AWESOME!! They make you feel so special! Ah, anways we finally make it into EPCOT and stop at the Ireland stand for some fisherman’s pie (yum) Adam got a beer and a cheese plate and I got some honey mead (super yum). Well, then it started raining, but not hard, so we just parked under the overhang of a concession stand for about 20 mins. We were really lucky because that was the only time it rained on us the entire trip (thank you, Jesus).

We were really anxious for the room to be ready, but it was like 4 pm on the dot when they texted us. I had requested pool view, high floor in that order and our (first) room was on the 5th floor, no pool view, but you could see Spaceship Earth and I think we could’ve seen the higher Illuminations fireworks too. I say “think” because we noticed that the sink was broken…not a little broken, but like the hot water handle was laying sadly on the counter and a wastebasket was catching leaking water underneath!! So we call down and they were nice, apologized and said they would send someone up asap. Well, we waited around for a good hour or so, but finally we had to leave to catch Fantasmic so we thought they would fix it while we were gone.

We had a great time and came back to the room, it was around 8 pm so we knew if we stopped by the room we would be a little late for our Coral Reef dinner, but we are worrywarts and I think Adam was worried about the luggage, good news—our luggage had been delivered, bad news—the sink had not even been touched! We didn’t have time to check in with the front desk again without totally missing our Coral Dinner, so we just left and hoped it would be fixed. Our dinner was great! Although, it seemed like there were less fish than usual in the tank. I can’t remember what all we had but it was delish!! We were seated next to another couple who had just had their Disney wedding a few days prior. Our waitress was super nice and the food was served super-fast, which is good because we were hungry like wild coyotes  I had my birthday button and on, and it was noted on our reservation that were celebrating our anniversary and planning our wedding. The waitress brought us two free desserts! It was a very nice surprise. This was our first time using the TIW card and that was super simple and we tipped the waitress a bit extra over the included 18%.

Ok, now we are back to the hotel, we open the door and…the sink has still not been touched. Adam went down to the front desk to sort it out although we were both super tired, because I didn’t want to unpack if this was an issue that was going to take time to fix. He said the front desk was really nice and said they would send someone up to fix that night---uh, hello! It was already like 11 pm, I do not need captain plumber up there working on the sink while I sit there awkwardly waiting for him to leave. Adam expressed his concern in a more polite manner and they moved us to another room on the same floor. This room was in great shape, although the view was not as cool---it didn’t really matter though because we were never in the room at fireworks time. That was the only unpleasant experience we had with the resort and I appreciated their willingness to just move us to a new room. The rest of the stay was fantastic and everyone we met was very nice.

So, that was our first day. We unpacked and then passed out…up next—Animal Kingdom day and my MOH comes to stay for a day!

Oh and because you were so nice to read all of that text here’s a picture…it’s our new foster dog, name TBD. He was caught in a trap, way out in the rural county area. We are working on his socialization, he is a very sweet, but scared, boy.

Oh, and we put up the Christmas tree yesterday!:santa:

IMG_2356.jpg

Okay, before I comment on your TR--- I NEED to comment on the doggie. As soon as I saw him, I went "AWWWWWWWWW." He looks SO nice. You said he's a foster--- are you going to keep him? I hope you do. :goodvibes My dog is an adopted dog, and when he was a puppy he was kept outside in a cardboard box and a coyote attacked and killed his brother. (This was prior to him being brought to the agency that we adopted him from.) Whenever Smokey (our dog) snuggles with us, I just think how lucky I am that we can make him feel safe. :goodvibes Sorry, I know that's not related to ANYTHING!

ANYWAY, onto your TR.
-I'm glad you liked BCV so much! We're staying there for 4 days in January, and I am SO excited. Although, that is annoying about the sink, but at least you were moved. I hope you enjoyed the pool.
-All of your FWF choices sound amazing, especially the honey bread. Yum!
-And happy belated birthday!

What a beautiful dog! It breaks my heart when they have had such a rough life. We got our three cats from a rescue, but they lived in a house where there mom lived and were well taken care of. Since we kept the whole litter together, we still consider them rescues. :)

Sorry about the problem at BCV with the sink, but glad that they finally rectified it. We are owners there, so it's good to know theyare treating everyone well.

Sounds like a great first day. Can't wait to read more.

Great tree too!

He is a very sweet boy. We most likely will not keep him as we already have three dogs and I like to keep the 4th spot open for a foster dog. However, I do have a feeling he will take longer to place than many of our others.

That's so sad about your dog's beginning...I never cease to be amazed at how awful people can be in regards to their pets. I'm glad he's safe with you now!

Ok, day 2! This was our Animal Kingdom day and we managed to make it park opening. We headed over and did the safari first and it was probably the best safari I’ve ever taken. We got the front row to ourselves and the animals were pretty active since it was early in the day. Baby giraffe off the starboard bow:
IMG_2223.jpg

I can’t exactly remember what we did next, lol. I know we rode Dinosaur 2 or 3 times and the same for Everest. We also watched the Nemo show, which I love! We ate lunch at the Yak and Yeti counter service and that was tasty. We did the It’s Tough to be a Bug show—always enjoyable! After that we explored the animal trails. I’m pretty sure we saw some stuff we had never taken the time to really look at before, like the huge bats. After that I decide I really needed to visit Camp Mickey to visit my favorite duck, but it was like everyone in the park decided to go there at once. It was insanely crowded, so we decided to just head out.

We were expecting my MOH and her hubby around 6 pm so we decided to check out Stormalong Bay. Now it was November and I am cold natured, but it wasn’t too bad. We hung out for a couple of hours. I love laying out and reading by the pool while my hot DF brings me yummy boat drinks. It’s probably my favorite pastime! LOL. Oh, I forgot to mention that I had artfully made a reservation for two at Ohana (probably our fav Disney restaurant) for right around Wishes time exactly 180 days out. Well, my MOH was sweet enough to drive over from Tampa to attend my planning session and booked a night at Port Oleans Riverside, so I needed to add 2 peeps to my ressie—I kept trying online and calling once we got there but no dice. We had finally decided to be “those people” and just show up and see if they could accommodate us and if not, we were going to head over to DTD. Adam decided to pop down to the concierge and just see if they could help, because the phone service was telling us there was nothing available. Lo and behold, he comes back with a ressie for 4!! At that point, I didn’t care about fireworks and the view from Ohana isn’t the best anyways. So we all met up at the Tambu Lounge for drinks and then we were seated in fairly short order. My MOH, Jana, is my bestfriend and I don’t get to her nearly as much as I would like, especially since she moved to Tampa earlier this year. We consider it very fortunate that they ended up there right before the wedding. I have to admit that I hope when her residency is over she moved back to our neck of the woods.

She surprised me with an early wedding gift! A cake serving set! I had posted one earlier in my PJ I found on Etsy that I was thinking about ordering, but never did. She contacted that lady and told her my wedding colors and she made this beautiful set:

CakeSet.jpg

Jana told her she wanted a hidden Mickey and the lady had no clue what she was talking about even though she is based out of the Tampa area. I love it! We ate tons of yummy food and then parted ways with plans to meet at Franck’s at 9 am for the PS!!

IMG_2230.jpg

Notice all the Lapu Lapus....Everyone had one but me, I tried a Golden Macaw instead and it was amazing!! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!

Very nice second day. Love the cake cutting set. Very different. Love the Hidden Mickey.

Can't wait for the next installement.

PS Day Part 1!

I woke up early because I was excited, lol. Not too early though. I showered and got ready and then we debated on whether to wait for the bus or not and we ended up deciding to take a cab. It was so much better and we got to Franck’s just a little before 9 am. Poor Jana didn’t fare so well and got there a little late, but we had literally just sat down in the Meriweather room when she arrived. We met our planner, Pam, and an intern or something named Vita. They were both very nice and helpful. You never know how it’s going to be when you meet someone new, but I really liked Pam’s personality.
IMG_2244-1.jpg

So we started go over stuff…real specific description, I know. She has some huge multi-page checklist and kind of went all over the place. We talked about the cake. I had brought some pics:
ocean2.jpg

aquarium2.jpg

And we were brainstorming and I came up with the BEST idea ever!! I wanted to incorporate my pets into the cake, so we decided to put them on the cake with scuba gear on. Lol, it may not everyone’s style, but we think it’s going to be super cute. We decided not to do a specific topper, but just more of the brightly colored coral. We also decided on the mad hatter style, three tiers…thought it kind of looked like waves. Oh, and the flavors!! First of all—yum!! Now, I have to be honest….most of the cakes tasted similar to me, except for the chocolate, which I didn’t care for. So we ended up with our first layer—marble cake with bailey’s and white chocolate, second layer—almond cake with tropical mousse and amaretto, and the top layer is a repeat of the first. It was hard to choose the flavors. There were so many and with all the combinations it was difficult to narrow it down, but in the end, we were successful.

Ok, the cake is really the only thing I remember vividly, lol. The rest was a lot of details. I was really grateful that Jana was there, because she had a lot of good insight. She was married a little over a year ago and she’s been to a Disney wedding before too. We went through everyone who was to be involved with the wedding, which was helpful because I hadn’t thought much about it before. We decided to go for the tropical trio for the ceremony and cocktail hour. They are expensive, but I think it will really cement the atmosphere we are going for. We had thought about doing a ride mix-in, but it just didn’t seem to fit in the schedule anywhere. Oh, and also made sure to mention that whatever happens, I MUST have pics of us in our wedding attire with fireworks. I had always thought we would do it around the GF after the reception, but Pam mentioned that with the reception ending around 8:30, that she would see if she could find us a place around the world showcase and we could just pop out there when the reception was over. I told her I didn’t care how it happens, just that it happens.

We ended up around 11 and our florist, Elizabeth, showed up shortly thereafter. She was super nice and efficient! Seriously, we were done in like 45 mins. I had printed out pics of what I liked and showed them to her and she wrote down the flowers. I actually got my floral BEO back exactly a week later…I will post it soon! I am using an outside florist for our personal floral to keep costs down.

After we met with Elizabeth we had a break until our tasting at 2 pm. We met up with Jana’s hubby and I took them to see Sago Cay. Then we wasted time around the GF and Jana and Mark had a snacky. Adam and I decided to tough it out since we had the tasting coming up…
