Justin Timberlake- acting like a celeb on Dumbo

But no, instead you choose to complain about WHICH RIDES they want to ride upon and the fact that it delayed someone for about 10 minutes.

Actually, I think most people really don't care about the line cutting or which rides he wants to go on. It's the part about him yelling at the dad with the camera that has most people upset. I wasn't there. I can't verify the story, but if it was true, Justin Timberlake is pretty lame.

You know what gets me the more I think of this. I always video tape the rides, with people on them. I have in the past taped Dumbo going around, while I was waiting in line. I got a whole bunch of people in that video. IMO, paying the price to enter the parks gives you the right to video tape the rides, where taping is in fact allowed. There was no reason that man shouldnt have been taping it unless he was specifically told not to. And theres no excuse for Justin to get angry at the man for doing nothing wrong.
Im sure more people would rather see Dumbo than him anyway. Dumbos much cuter ;)

I fondly remember photographs of Princess Diana at a theme park several years ago, laughing and loving the time with her sons. I bet she would have gladly posed for the man 50 yards away -- and she was a bigger celebrity than Justin will ever be, or ever hope to be!

The man had every right to photograph. He was in public place. And since this is a free country, that man should be able to take pictures of any attention-seeking dope like he tried! I say, if you don't want to be photographed in public, stay home! ::yes::

If that were me, and Justin was in my face, I would have kindly asked him to move to the side because he's blocking my shot of Miss Diaz!

While I don't excuse Mr. Timberlake's rude behavior...also try living a day as a celebrity.
While it's true that being a celeb does make it harder to live a "normal" life in public, it doesn't mean they have to be Class-A jerks about it. I work a number of top level auto races each year and I often encounter celebs in the pits and garage areas. I've gotten to the point where I don't blink when I see a celeb. Except for one time, I've never started a conversation with one and the most I'll usually do is smile and say "Hi" as I walk past them. I've walked past Anthony Edwards without saying a peep, even though ER is one of my wife's and my all-time favorite TV shows.... Didn't even take a picture. I just don't want to stop and sound like a blathering idiot when they probably don't want to talk to a complete stranger in the first place.

Some of them are very pleasant to be around... and others aren't. Paul Newman is one of the "coolest" celebs around. He doesn't have body guards, will freely talk to people at will, etc. He doesn't get mobbed and most people will just look at him and maybe take a picture as he walks by.

On the other end of the spectrum is the Hollywood wife of a current driver. Raise a camera in her general direction and she'll flee like a scared rabbit and her body guard will order you to not take her picture (which legally he can't do unless you're trespassing at the time). The first year she was around the tracks with her then boyfriend, the driver's crew members were told that they weren't allowed to make eye contact with her and only speak to her when spoken to. This year at one major race when a fan asked her for an autograph, one of my friends heard her reply (translated for a family board) "Go forth and multiply!" I have no respect for this actress what so ever. To me it seems that Mr. Timberlake falls in this category. If the guy had been in his face, that'd be different.

(And for the record, I don't have a problem with his ability to go on Dumbo and cut to the front of the line, or him wanting a body guard for that matter.)

he has never impressed me much, to quote Shania Twain lol.

i just don't think it's feesable for someone as famous as he is to expect to be able to go into the MK in broad daylight, bodyguards or no, and not be photographed! come on!

he should just rent out the MK one night for a couple hours after it closes or something...or else get a good disguise and just go through the lines like everyone else.

geez, wonder what he'd do if a little 12 year old made the mistake of asking for his autograph.

sounds like he needs to either hire more bodyguards or get over himself!

and ITA with the person who said that anytime the rides are going you are going to get people in your movies if you're filming! do you have any idea how many people's home movies i'm likely in after so many trips to WDW? LOL

now, i'm no justin timberlake
 but still...he could have been classy and ignored it. running around with a bunch of cm's fussing is a lot more likely to cause a riot than one guy and his camcorder. sheesh.

Even if he or Cameron Diaz enjoy Dumbo, it sounded like a publicity stunt to me, for a little more media saturation of Justin Timberlake (the Superbowl wasn't enough?). I'm sure that WDW would have indulged them and opened Fantasyland for them after closing so they could have enjoyed it without the offensive family man videotaping them (even if it was the press, who cares? You're out in public.). Why ride it on a July afternoon when there will surely be a ton of people around if you don't want to be noticed?

As for having a bad day, I happen to have enough class and compassion for people not to bite their heads even if I'm in a bad mood. I'm a teacher and I'm mature and professional enough to check my personal life at the door of the classroom and put a smile on my face, not chew out innocent people just because I can. Obviously Justin Timberlake is not.

I guess Ashely Judd isn't the sweet, little Southern Belle most people take her for, huh?;)

I'm glad to hear Paul Newman is a sweetie. I have a crush on him even though he could be my grandfather.:D

 I have bought my last Justin Timberlake CD. Wait...I haven't bought my first Justin Timberlake CD:crazy: I may have to buy one and return it just on principle:crazy:

Bet that would have deflated his attention seeking head! :hyper:

It sounds like the guy wasn't infringing on him in anyway -- not asking to pose for a picture or an autograph. What a Class A JERK. I just read a story about him and Cameron visiting some bridge in Australia and acting the same way. They wanted a celeb picture to put up and they refused. The man who worked there said it was the first time he ever remembered a celeb refusing to be on their wall of fame and he named a bunch of stars much bigger than those two.

Anthony Edwards lives near me (next town over) I have seen him in a local bakery a few times, he is very nice...although like you, I wouldn't stop to chat with him...im sure he doesn't want to hear how my day went....

By the way...do you know Bobby Labonte? if so, my husband might want to be your new best friend...LOL

Uh, not quite right. WDW is not a "public place". WDW can, and does limit what can and cannot be photographed or videotaped.

To: whjoyjr

I never heard that one. How can that be? I studied journalism law (including photography), and to the best of my knowledge, taking pictures is such place is considered public. If you have any professional knowledge of what you said, I would be interested in how WDW would be considered "not public". I always like to learn something. Thanks for your information. :bounce:

I have videotaped a lot at WDW and was never told that I could not videotape.
Where in WDW is it not allowed?

Lisa

Maybe JT was trying to show Cameron how macho he can be for a boy band member. He should talk to Joey Fatone (bandmate NSYNC) how to behave at WDW. He just walked around and got in line like everyone else. There was no one acting like fools around him to get photos or autographs.

I also would be interested in knowing where you are not allowed to video or photograph. It will save being hassled by a cm

I'm in the recording industry and, quite unfortunately, July is usually the only time anybody in the industry have some time off.

JT is still acting like a jerk, though.

O.k., my Disney friends, I could not stand it anymore. My curiosity got the best of me so I called Disney to get their take on the Justin story. Here is what the lady told me . . .

1) WDW is a PUBLIC place, not private (as I had already known).

2) The man had every legal right to take JT's picture. However, she did add that it is Disney's policy to protect "the famous" and ask that photos not be taken if the celebrity does not want it. I told her that if you are at WDW, you can't get much more public and the celebrity should expect it. She laughed and agreed.

So there -- now we know. :Pinkbounc
