Just watched the ISS and the Shuttle pass overhead tonight...

Thanks for the link. I should be able to see it tomorrow night. I have a 3 minute window!!

Marie and I just watched it a bit ago. We saw it heading south your way, MJ. I was neat. :thumbsup2

I wished I had known this 2 hours ago. It's already gone by us.

Cool I actually have a 2 minute window tonight at 10:23.

Awwwww, I missed it for us tonight.

Thanks for the info - I will try to look for it tomorrow night.

So what exactly am I looking for? Does it look like a star passing?

Cool! This weekend looks good for us providing the weather cooperates.

Darn - we missed it by a day! Do you know how often you can see it?

It will be a very bright small light that does not blink. It will make a steady course following the direction posted on the page I made a link to.
Last night was good viewing for me, but tonight and Sunday ( the only other days we can see it here in Memphis) it will be too low on the horizon, or as on Sunday it will be so soon after sunset I don't know if it will be dark enough.
Make sure you know what degree above the horizon you need to keep your eyes on.

The website says only days it will be visable in an area are listed, and since
no other days are listed, I guess you missed your chance :guilty:

Hopefully there will be other oppurtunites later!

I remember watching one of the Sputniks go over our house in the late '50's. How time flies.

No sightings avaliable in our area, darn. I have watched this before though, it is pretty cool.

perdidoby-thanks SO much for sharing this link. DS and I just climbed down from our roof where we watched. Perfect night for it!!

OK, stupid question since I have taken astronomy, but how do you do the degrees thing? It says 21 degrees max. That is pretty low, right?

I thought it was going to be much lower. Ours was 27 degrees WSW. I thought to look just above the tree line. Actually when we spotted it, if I held out my arm, it seemed to be a "palm's width" to the right of the moon. Does that make sense? Then it went under the moon and out of sight.

My mom and i saw it tonight too---right above the tree line pretty much--thanks for posting the website!!
