Just watched the ISS and the Shuttle pass overhead tonight...

We went out by our local golf course and looked for it at 9:12 but I think it was too low in the sky - it was coming in at 25 degrees and leaving at 11 degrees and we didn't see anything. Bummer - maybe next time.

OK, stupid question since I have taken astronomy, but how do you do the degrees thing? It says 21 degrees max. That is pretty low, right?
Sonya, 90 would be straight up, 45 half way between straight up and the horizon. 21 would be about half way between the 45 and the horizon, yes, pretty low.

darn I just missed it tonight by about 20 minutes. Maybe I'll try for Sunday night

Darn...it was last night for us.

For the poster who mentioned watching Sputnik...I have a neat story. One of the things that my small town is somewhat famous (locally) for, is that a piece broke off of the Sputnik and landed in the middle of one of the main streets in our town. My grandpa was a police officer at the time, and was one of the first on the scene investigating what had just happened.

The piece (well, a replica) is now displayed in a museum in town.
