Just wanted to tell everyone who posts their experiences (good and bad) and tips - THANK YOU!
Because of the all the great informtion on this board, I was totally prepared when Delta called tonight to tell us there was a change in our flight arriving on 12/31. Originally we were scheduled to leave MCI at 12:15pm and arrive at MCO at 6:21pm. Well, for whatever reason our original flight was no longer there and they tried to put us on a later flight arriving in Orlando at 9:30pm! I politely asked if there were any earlier flights (I was willing to fly down on the 30th since I am now off that day). Well, low and behold, we are now leaving at 7:10am and arriving at 2:20pm! An extra 4 hours at WDW!
We originally booked the 12:15 because DH was working the night before and wasn't getting home until after 8am. Since he is no longer working on the 30th, I was kind of bummed because we could have taken an earlier flight. I am so excited! Let's just hope that the flights don't change again. BTW, the 2 gentlemen I spoke with at Delta were very nice and very accomodating.
If I hadn't read about this happening to others, I probably would have just taken the later flight figuring that was all that was available. Then been disapointed about getting in so late on NYE. So, again, a big thank you to everyone here.
