CF'er, I have read that if the child is a certain age when the trip starts and has a birthday while there at Disney, the age they were when the trip started is the age Disney considers them. As for the OP, I too wouldn't chance it. I'm having the no lying battle w/my five year old right now and it would bother me to lie about his age. Besides I'm a terrible liar...I must give off some type of pheremones or have a serious tell because people can always tell when I'm lying!! Maybe that's been my problem at the poker table lately!

This is correct, there are no birthdays at DisneyWorld, at least not ones that will count against your kid or wallet.

Our ap's go from July to July. Last January, my oldest dd turned 10. I took her and the ticket to guest services to update the card and they told me not to worry about it! However, last July, they did issue her an adult pass. Just one more person to hold up the line while they try to get the machine to "read their fingers".

I bought my daughter and childs AP on our last trip when she was still 9 and will upgrade it for free on our April trip. We will not be doing any buffets since I can barely justify the price for me let alone my 10 year old. Just to let you know my son turned 3 on the last day of our April 2005 trip,and I was never questioned about age and he was very tall at 39 in he did'nt look 2. We did 6 park days and 3 buffets and stayed at Animal Kingdomwith our family of 5 with him as a child under 3 and I was never questioned, I had even bought his birth certificate,just to be safe.

My DH & I always tell the truth.....so we couln't say our DS is 9 when infact he's 10. I don't slight anyone who would do that though...it's just not 'our thing'. We just always say we like to avoid bad karma. Everyone is different. But I will say that it did KILL me to have to pay $27 at O'Hana's for my DS (10) to eat 3 bites of steak for dinner. We just won't be returning to those type of meals for awhile. He still eats like a toddler.

You do what you're comfortable with. It's no one's business I suppose.
