Just the two of us- WDW May 09 countdown on! **UPDATE Trying to change plans AGAIN!**

Thanks!

(And by the way, I don't know where the confusion is coming from but my name is Kara not Breanna LOL!)

I am even more excited about it now that I have read so many great reviews about CSR. I fretted and fretted over money and finally quit worrying since this is going to be the first and last trip for several years. Thanks for subscribing and it would be awesome if we could meet up while we are all there! (Rylan LOVES everyone lol!)

I just assumed based on a previous poster's comments! Sorry about that! Now I know....and it is nice to meet you KARA!

CSR is great! Maybe we can meet up at CSR...because since we are staying at the POP this time, I'll bet we will get a little "homesick" for our beloved CSR!! I've got some links to share with you that have our photos from CSR (we took a LOT!)

Stealing Alan's idea and getting ready to add up the cost of the meals according to menus on allears.com. I want to see if a DDP will be better for me. Ugh more money. I am the worst person EVER to spend money!

Hahahaha!!!! That's hilarious that you are stealing my idea about adding up meals. You really ARE an obsessive planner!!! We are going to get along great!

Well looks like the DDP still won't work. If I was to get something it would be the DDxP and I don't want to be locked into so many sitdown meals and counter service meals. I think we will be better off paying OOP.

So I was trying to get a makeshift itinerary together but this darn Britney Spears special has me hooked. Shame on me LOL

I don't blame you. With it being just you and Rylan, you may have more flexibility paying out of pocket.

Shame on you watching Britney!! :rolleyes1

Yay! My mom just texted me and asked if Rylan would like Madagascar and Wall-E! Now I don't have to buy them!

We just watched Wall-E for the first time this weekend. How cute is that movie?? DD8 just LOVED it. (Actually, we all did!)

Don't worry about planning too much over the next few weeks......YOU concentrate on your classes and leave the planning to US who have already been there, done that!!

Alan

Haha Alan! I told you I was an anal planner! I actually almost made a decision yesterday to switch my major from nursing to tourism management and my mom talked me out of it (although I really would like that...I wonder if I can get a side job now as a wedding planner LOL). I think it partly comes from my ADHD. I HAVE to obsessively plan otherwise I would never get anything done LOL

I have not seen Wall-E yet...but I want to...and Ice Age- the Meltdown....and Madagascar 2....and so many more. I watched Enchanted again the other night and I fell in love with it all over again. Yay for being a kid again :)

Has anyone been to Le Cellier? I just looked up the menu and it looks so so good...Maybe I should add that to my list...

I officially LOVE Myspace. Love love love.

My sister and I don't talk much...we are both pretty busy and usually she is hanging out with her friends. Well she just posted a survey on there and one question was:
What is you next vacation?

Her answer?

Disneyworld!!

Woohoo!! Hopefully this means a yes! I promised I wouldn't bug her again until about a month from now so I have to wait til after the new year but hopefully this is a sign!

Yay! That's so great! I hope she gets to go. Yeah, I love myspace and I love facebook too. How do I find you on them. I'll PM you my last name so you can look me up.

I haven't been but it is an absolute must this time. That is DH's one request. I want to eat there too. I'd like to try the cheese soup.

Le Cellier is AWESOME!!! We loved it! Here is a link to our review and the pictures we took at Le Cellier in May:

I think Rylan would get a kick out of the "chocolate mouse."

Haha! That moose is definitely something else ;)

Glad to see poutine is not on the menu as an appetizer! I adore Canada but not poutine (if you don't know what it is: google it...not very appetizing to me LOL).

I may have to see about going there. What all is in the cheese soup? The grilled steak salad sounds sooooo good. I have had a steak salad here at a steakhouse and it is delicious.

And for anyone who wants to add- myspace.com/ratherorange

If I recognize you from here I will accept :) PM me for the last name/email address to add me.

Being a self-declared "foodie" I am embarrassed to say that I did not know what poutine was. (I'll bet my DW knows, though!) Anyway, I googled it and.....hmmm....I don't know. I'm not a big fan of the cheese curds, but cheesy fries with gravy has potential. I would try it at least once (i am adventurous like that!) but I don't think I'd like it.

That cheese soup at Le Cellier is AWESOME!! Our server gave us the recipe, but I don't know where it is. I know you can find it somewhere on these boards. If I find it, I'll post the link.

I think I am going to order the cheese soup and the grilled steak salad when we go in May. (or the filet - I have read that it is really good!)

I'm here!! Now we can be a part of each other's PTRs! :cool1: Rylan is ADORABLE! and I'm so glad it looks like your sister is coming with you! :thumbsup2

I know you have your ressies...but just consider this: how much time will you actually be in your room? The biggest difference between the two (in my opinion) is the pool, restaurants on-site, and a little bit in the rooms. But we're never in our room enough to really counter the cost.

On the other hand, I LOVE the DP! :worship:  It's honestly one of my favorite things about Disney! The restaurants are to die for... We're able to eat places we'd never go and pay full price for. And then you don't have to worry about carrying around a lot of money in the parks--it's all on your room ticket. And you know Rylan is going to want some snacks and everything--and it's covered on the DP! I don't think I'll ever go without getting it again. We're on a tight budget, but that's one thing I made sure we budgeted for!

Oh--and I promise I won't be offended AT ALL if you take 0% of my advice  I just wanted to share and let you pick through what you might like to consider. :confused3

Well, happy planning!! Great PTR!! :thumbsup2

Made my way over !! Mayers must support each other !!

Woohoo! Welcome :)

Is there a shiver smiley? I need that. Something about gravy, cheese, fries, etc makes me want to...well nevermind LOL. Like I said, I AM a picky eater! They sell it at KFC in Ontario!

I think I am ordering the same as you...it sounds SO so good. I plan on having that NY strip at CR! Another DISer reviewed it and said she could cut it with a fork. I am drooling now.

Thanks for the advice!

I actually expect us to be in our room quite a lot. Rylan will only be three and I know he will need his naps and down time. I also have family who will be coming to visit as well. They live about 1 1/2 hours away from the park :woohoo: I don't think I was ever fully sold on Pop so I ended up with CSR but I am completely sold on that!

I did look into the DDP, but with as little as he eats, spending that much money on the dining plan to me is probably a waste :( Plus if my sister goes I want to give her a choice...because I am stuck paying for her DDP if she goes! With meals with family etc and our down days, I don't think we would get the full worth of all of it. When Rylan is a little bit older and turns into a hungry hungry boy then I definitely want to get it!

Anyway, I appreciate it! I am always up for advice from other veteran DISers even if I don't take it! It helps me explore options!!

And on a sad note...I know this isn't about the trip but I am so sad about this. Just a little background. I work for probably the largest HVAC company in the country. I am a CSR, meaning I am the sweet girl who answers your questions and schedules your appointments. One of our dispatchers left early tonight to see her grandson's recital and I took over dispatch. An hour after she left, her DIL called and informed us that Linda had had a seizure, they were on the way to the ER and the medics were performing CPR. I want to say Linda is in her mid 60s maybe. I am just so upset about it :( I have been there for a year and a half and she is just the sweetest lady (although conniving sometimes!). So just keep her and her family in your prayers and thoughts!

That is terrible! You can count on Linda, her family and friends to be in my prayers. I hope everything works out okay for her. :flower3:

I'm so glad you're happy with your choices! :thumbsup2 Yeah--a better room will be PERFECT for you since you're taking a little one :) And if I had to pay for someone else's DP, I think I might opt out too  Good choices.

I'm so sorry to hear about Linda. I'll pray for her and her family right now. Please keep us updated. That's so tough. :sad1:

Well, happy planning, and have a good day.

Well here is the deal on Linda.

She has an 80-90% blockage in 3 arteries, so they are planning on a triple bypass. They were scheduling for tomorrow but I just got word that they are taking her tonight because its so serious. Therefore, she had a heart attack last night. :(

Disney wise. I sucked it up and finally told my mom we were going tonight. She is usually quite pessimistic and has to find something negative about everything, but I told her and she didn't really say much about money which is good! She just talked about how my grandparents can't have us stay with them. LOL @ her. Well of course we aren't staying there, my grandparents are in their mid 70s. They get tired just from watching Rylan run around!

Well I have to change my ressies once again to reflect that fact that Rylan will be 3 (boo to having to pay out the butt for him when he will only be three for a month before we leave!). Although I am considering one extra day there just because.

Total with changing Rylan's age and keeping it at 7 days is $1302
Total with changing Rylan's age and making it 8 days is $1500.

A difference of just under $200. So an extra night and extra day at CSR and tickets with PH for $200. Is that a good deal? I am trying to stay as long as possible!

Regardless I will have paid off $720 by the time my balance is due. So instead of owing $580, I would owe $780.

Ahhh what do you guys think?? I will still have plenty of money to play around with while down there.

Damn all these options. Disney is GOOD at sucking you in!

That stinks you have to pay for him now!!! I don't know...I might keep it at 7 days if I were you...8 might completely wear the little guy out! But if you think he can handle it, and you can afford to add the day, go for it...

I agree. We were amazed at how exhausted we ALL were from 7 days at Disney! We had an amazing time, no doubt, but I would save the $200 and maybe treat myself to a nice dinner one evening.

Well see another option would be to add an off day in themiddle of vacation and either hang out at the hotel or visit family. I am not necessarily thinking of having to absolutely going to the parks. Thanks for the insight guys!

Another update on Linda: She had open heart surgery today and ended up with 5 bypasses. She is in ICU now and resting. She cannot drive for 3 weeks. Hopefully we know more tomorrow about how she is doing.

I think an off day would be perfect....for both of you! That would break up the trip into two halves, and would give you a day to rest up.

Our prayers are with Linda, rest assured. I'm so sorry that she has to endure all of this.

Hey girl! I hope Linda is doing better. I've been gone for a few days because my computer broke. The hard drive was going out and the keyboard would not type L M N O P. LOL my DH called it a FUBAR if you know what that means. I can't type it out though :rotfl2: I think it would be good to add another day and take a rest in the middle of your trip. I wish we would have done that on this past trip. How do you feel about the diver and personalized menu being taken away from coral reef? I'm very upset!

Just stopped in to say I am still alive. Finals are next week and I have been running around like a chicken with my head cut off. Since Linda is gone indefinitely, I am dispatching now (and actually got moved to that position since they were hiring for it before anyway AND a pay raise!). No time to mess around online!

On top of all that, we had a serious situation with my sister this past weekend. She was in the hospital with hypothermia and a BAC of 0.38, needless to say she almost died. We think she was drugged.

So yeah, not much time to plan, but I promise to update soon! Thanks for hangin in there with me!
