Just the two of us- WDW May 09 countdown on! **UPDATE Trying to change plans AGAIN!**

YAYAYAYAY!!!!

I just upgraded to CSR and I am super stoked! POP seems nice but I wanted something a teeny bit more luxury like and this one has all the amenities that I want. Still no queen bed, but that's okay. I will hope and pray for an upgrade on arrival :)

Now off to read a little more about CSR!

Breanna,

I just found your pre-trip report and have read every single post! I followed the link you posted in your signature from the posts you made on the May '09 board.

This is a GREAT PRE-TRIP REPORT! Your son is adorable and I know you all will have a great time.

Congratulations of the upgrade to CSR!! My family and I had our very first trip to WDW this past May and we stayed at CSR. LOVED it!!! The budget for our return trip this year is a little tighter, so we decided to try POP Century. Our kids have seen the pictures on the POP threads and really wanted to stay there.

Check out my report from May and my pre-trip report. (links are in my signature.) The dates for our upcoming trip are May 15-22, so we can share information in our planning!! (I am an anal planner also!) Maybe we can even set up a DIS-meet one day.

Anyway, I am subscribing to this thread and I look forward to reading more!

Alan

Thanks!

(And by the way, I don't know where the confusion is coming from but my name is Kara not Breanna LOL!)

I am even more excited about it now that I have read so many great reviews about CSR. I fretted and fretted over money and finally quit worrying since this is going to be the first and last trip for several years. Thanks for subscribing and it would be awesome if we could meet up while we are all there! (Rylan LOVES everyone lol!)

Hi Kara! :wave2: I'm joining in on your PTR (saw you on the "may 2009" thread!) Thats awesome you upgraded to CSR I've always wanted to stay there I think it just looks beautiful. But where it is just me traveling I usually don't spend too much time in my room so I don't need anything fancy. I'm waiting for the hours to come out too so I can really get planning!

I love Coral reef and I think you and Rylan will too. There is just so much to look at the atmosphere is great! I'm pickey about food too but I can always find something good there to eat. I did the quick service dining plan and I may add on some sit down meals. Well I know for sure the night of my b-day I will.

But anyway your trip looks great! Hopefully your sister will join you. Ohhhhh and Rylan is too cute for words! I think hes really going to have a blast on this trip. :goodvibes

Thanks for stopping in!

I am glad to know I am not the only picky eater out there since Rylan and I both are. I adore seafood and steak (I saw a dining review with their NY strip and boy oh boy that looking amazing). I think I am most excited for Mama Melrose though!

I keep telling myself that I don't need to upgrade etc because we won't be in the room much, but then I remember that Rylan will only be 3 when we go, so he will still get tuckered out easily. So we will have room time and down time at night. I wish we could just go go go!

So I am thinking of doing Boma for breakfast...it looks SO good...but I am concerned with how easily we could get there. I don't know if it would be feasible to go there for breakfast and I am almost certain I would need to drive there instead of depending on Disney transportation.

Stealing Alan's idea and getting ready to add up the cost of the meals according to menus on allears.com. I want to see if a DDP will be better for me. Ugh more money. I am the worst person EVER to spend money!

Well looks like the DDP still won't work. If I was to get something it would be the DDxP and I don't want to be locked into so many sitdown meals and counter service meals. I think we will be better off paying OOP.

So I was trying to get a makeshift itinerary together but this darn Britney Spears special has me hooked. Shame on me LOL

Hi,

I'm also going to Disney in May. We are going May 9th to 16th at Pop. It will just be me, DH, and DS. He'll be 26 months at the time of our trip. I think you'll be surprised by your DS. The parade and fireworks are so pretty and interesting that he might be transfixed on them the whole time, unless he's scared of the noise of wishes. We took DS when he was 14 months old. The most important thing we learned about DS is to let him sleep as late as he wants in the morning. We didn't do that in the beginning of the trip and usually only got to stay at the park until 5 because he was so over tired. This year we have parkhopper so we are going to let him sleep in the mornings, go to the park of our choice, take a late afternoon nap, and then head to the EMH park at night. Hopefully he'll handle that better. I'm enjoying your trip report. I'm thinking of making one of my own!!

Aww your son is only about 10 months younger than Rylan then! I am hoping he likes the fireworks and such. He wasn't too interested in the 4th of July show this year, but I am hoping that almost a year later it will change.

DS wakes up pretty early so I should hopefully be okay with that, but I will admit that its going to take a lot for me to just relax and let it happen! I have a couple of places that I for sure want to eat at (mainly character meals) but other than that I am really trying to be flexible for his sake. Luckily I have the most hyper toddler on the face of the planet so maybe that will work out to my advantage!

I would love to read your PTR if you make one! Maybe we could meet up (if that doesn't sound too creepy LOL) while we are all there. DS loves to have friends to play with!

I'd love to meet up. That's not creepy at all! LOL Maybe we can watch the parade together or something. I don't know, we'll plan that down the road. Well, you inspired me. I started my PTR. The link is in my sig. I'm excited about writing one too! I added tons of pics. I hope you like it!

BTW, I love the name Rylan!

Tyson is pretty hyper too, which is a disadvantage when we are trying to have a meal at any restaurant. He gets bored so easy.

If Rylan loves Stitch I'd recommend the Ohana breakfast at the Poly. It was Tyson's fave and he is now obsessed with Stitch. The food is good too. Go look at some of the pics on the Food Porn thread. I especially loved the breads and POG juice which is made from Guava, Pineapple and Passion Fruit juice. It's great! I even asked for a glass to go and brought it into the park!! LOL It is served on a big platter family style. You also get the bread and a plate of fruit. I actually asked if they had a banana for DS since he didn't eat any of the fruit that was offered. The nice CM went and got him one even though it wasn't on the menu! I think for the main meal you get eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, and I'm thinking something else but I don't know what so I'll get back to you on the details. The characters are Stitch, Lilo, Pluto and Mickey. When the Lilo and Stitch song comes on the kids get up and shake maracas and dance with the characters around the restaurant. It's so much fun and a great way to start the day. We are going to that one and Chef Mickey in May. But we are trying out CM at night on the first night there. I'm very excited!!

That would be great! Glad I didn't sound creepy LOL
Thanks about his name :) My mom actually suggested it...long story- he was originally a Collin and she said it reminded her of colon- and then bowel movement and threatened to call him BM SO I changed it haha. I was going to comment in your PTR that Tyson is an adorable name :)

Rylan hasn't seen Lilo and Stitch yet, I may have to rent that so he can see it. I am trying to load him up on more Disney movies so he knows who the characters are!

We are doing Fantasmic at Mama Melrose if I can get ADRs for it, have you guys seen that? I showed Rylan a clip off of youtube and he looked super excited while he was watching so hopefully that works out. I am headed to your PTR now and will subscribe :)

Man, I've got to go to bed but it's like the DIS just sucks you in! LOL I like the name Collin too but I like Rylan even better. Ha Ha my initials are now BM. Let's just say if I get things monogrammed I use all three initials! :rotfl:

Definitely let him see Lilo and Stitch. Did you buy Wall-E? Tyson is now obsessed with him too. He also loves the Aristocats. He could watch them all day. He loves cats so that's a no brainer. You should hear him say "Cat says Meow." It's so funny because he puts this southern twang to the meow. It's hilarious.

That's so sweet that Rylan asks you if you are OK and to take medicine. I can't wait until Tyson can talk more.

Fantasmic is wonderful! I love it. We ate at Mama Melrose on our honeymoon. DH loved it and I think I just ordered the wrong thing. I got the pasta with clams and mussels. I couldn't eat it because there were so many broken pieces of shell all in my food. I sent it back and got something different but I can' remember what. Just don't order that! Yuck! It's a pretty restaurant too! You'll like it.

I'm off to bed. Night!

Ugh I know, ever since I put my deposit down I have been up til 3am every night! I still have 2 weeks left of classes!

I reallllly need to get to bed.

One more update and I am off:

I decided to do a pretty simple thing today. I am paying off $130 a month until my balance is due. So $20 for 3 weeks a month and $70 for one week (totalling $130). That way I have $520 paid off and maybe more by the time my balance is due at the end of March. Nice...so that way I don't have to take out a huge chunk of money. I also realized that I have to add Rylan to the ressies as a 3 year old. Totally kept spacing my mind...which means a couple extra hundred dollars :( But if I pay it off the way I plan then it shouldn't be a big deal then.

Will CRO let me pay in small amounts each week? I am assuming they will...

I'm sure you can pay some each week. I told DH yesterday that I want to go ahead and pay some on ours. We always use our tax return to pay for it but I don't want to take the chance that we don't get our money before the 45 day due date. I'd hate to cancel it and rebook. We'd lose that great deal.

I don't have finals this semester so I only have one more simple paper that's due Thursday. I haven't done it yet but I'll either get it done today or tomorrow.

I just noticed that the June calendar has been put up but no hours. Maybe May hours are on the way.:confused3

Yeah I am using my refund as well. I also have about 7000 dollars coming in a refund from grants and student loans. So about $11,000! I am paying off my car ($3000) and tuition and books and after that I will have a huge chunk to set aside. I was already planning on going on vacation but decided WDW would be much more fun than Canada this year and totally worth it. I just hate to take $1000 of it right away to pay off my balance while I can do it now and lower the balance (make sense?). More money to play around with and also plenty to keep in savings for the semester. My refund is pretty much paying for the trip anyway, but its nice to have some more money set aside for a much needed vacation.

I sure hope May hours are on the way, I am ready to keep planning!

Yay! My mom just texted me and asked if Rylan would like Madagascar and Wall-E! Now I don't have to buy them!

Awesome!! That's great! Those are both such good movies. Tyson is not into Madagascar yet but I'll keep trying. I still have no clue what I'm getting him for Christmas. I wanted the fisher price kid tough DVD player but I read some bad reviews like it stopped working after a couple weeks, it has a short battery life, and is very easy to open. There's no lock so Tyson could open it and get the DVD out. He's definitely not ready for that yet.

So you're not going to believe what happened when I got off the computer last night. I moved Tyson to his crib and he woke up!! Ahh! I was so upset. I got him a bottle of milk (yes, he's still taking a bottle, but just for milk. He drinks everything else from a sippy cup.) and went in the living room to rock him. He still didn't want to go back to bed after the bottle so I laid him in our bed but he started crying to be in his crib. That's a great sign because he's hated it for about eight months now. We've had a break through this week and he's slept in his bed about 5 nights in a row. So he played in his crib for a while and then got restless again and wanted out. I told him to lay down but he started crying. So I finally did what I haven't had the courage to do. I turned my back to him so he couldn't see my face and I just laid in my bed and didn't acknowledge his crying. He cried for about 10 minutes and then realized that I was not getting him out. He laid back down and was asleep in about 10 more minutes! :cool1: :woohoo: Let me tell you I was beaming! I can't believe he went to sleep and didn't even throw up from crying (he gagged once) He slept until 8:44 this morning. Now he's trying to take a nap. I'm tired but last night was a very good step towards him going to bed on his own. He has never done that!! He always goes to bed with us and then I put him in his crib if he doesn't wake up while I'm moving him.

Awesome! Rylan was about 13 months old when I had to start making him CIO in his room. He slept with me for such a long time and it got to the point where he could only sleep with me in bed with him and let me tell ya...I wasn't having the 8 or 9 o clock bedtime! I really hope that its not a fluke and keeps working for you! I love Rylan and sometimes wish he would sleep with me, but at the same time I need my freedom (apparently to stay up til 3am and stay on DIS LOL).

I officially LOVE Myspace. Love love love.

My sister and I don't talk much...we are both pretty busy and usually she is hanging out with her friends. Well she just posted a survey on there and one question was:
What is you next vacation?

Her answer?

Disneyworld!!

Woohoo!! Hopefully this means a yes! I promised I wouldn't bug her again until about a month from now so I have to wait til after the new year but hopefully this is a sign!
