This is what my husband always says, and believe me, we tried very hard to institute this rule. At 'Ohana nephew (11) promised he would eat the rice. I am not exaggerating...he tried ONE grain of rice and said he hated it. Aside from sitting on him and shoving it down, I really don't know how to make this kid eat something!

I noticed this after I had already submitted my post. Now, you can probably guess how this went, but for those of you still holding out hope... No, he did not eat the pizza. Even though it was perforated into slices, he picked the whole thing up and proceeded to nibble JUST the crust away, making sure not to touch the cheese or sauce. Pizza Planet may need to rethink their upstairs seating plan, as it was the perfect height for my husband to throw this child out the window.

I have to admit, the scene at Sunshine Seasons did slowly reach a height that I should not have allowed. Before we went, my hubby and I read the "WDW with Kids" section of the Unofficial Guide. I kept repeating the advice to myself..."You are the adult, you are the adult." There's something about Disney World that makes this difficult to remember. Moreover, I guess that's also a disadvantage of taking nephews. I don't want to be the mom. I want to be the cool, fun aunt. So when they start acting like terrors I'm confused as to what I should do. Anyway, I digress... At Mama Melrose's we instituted this rule. He got nothing to eat except the free "sunflower seed bread" (sigh), and we explained to him that he would have to sit there while we ate. Now, he knows that I am extremely squeamish so he kept saying gross things all through dinner for spite. Oh well, live and learn, right?
