We just spent a week in Disney on the Silver Plan.We definitely got our value out of the wishes we spent for meals and a few extras. We had to do a bit of rescheduling due to hurricane Jeanne's arrival, but still managed to re book all of our PS's eventually. I'm going to do a day by day run down of where we ate, and what it would have cost us.

"We" consisted of myself, dh, and our two ds, who were charged at adult prices for all our meals due to their ages.
Each meal (except breakfast and buffet style, gave us each a appetizer, entree, dessert and non-alcoholic drink)
Many of the restaurants offered add-ons to the entrees like a shrimp skewer,or scallop addition and included smoothies to the drink selection when we told the server we were on the silver plan..And all taxes and gratuity were included.

Day 1
Dinner @ Concourse Steakhouse (Contemporary Resort)
This was not a planned meal, but it turned out to be very good.
Appetizers=Shrimp Cocktail,crab cakes,onion soup

This meal also gave us 4 extra bottles of rootbeer to take back to our resort since each person was allowed 2 drinks, and we each only perused one for dinner
used 8 wishes(272.00 value) Total bill was 345.73

We felt this was a wonderful dinner, and that it made excellent use of the wishes it requires

Day 4

Day 5
Lunch @ Mama Melrose (MGM)
This was probably our least favorite meal. The food was nothing exciting, and our server was very dry.He didn't listen to us explaining that our kids were on the adult silver wishes, and he ended up serving them, and charging them kids entree portions, which lessened our value.
used 4 wishes(136.00 value) Total bill was 106.39

Dinner @ Ohana's
This was our 2nd place meal of the trip. Firstly bc we LOVE Ohana, and the food and service never dissappoints us.Secondly bc we were able to score a window table and we enjoyed WISHES while we ate!!Our PS time was 7:40 on a Wed night.By checking in early (7:10pm) and my dh very nicely asking to be seated at a window if at all possible, we were sprinkled with Pixie Dust ;)
4 adult dinners, 2 Beach Bomb desserts, Choc. Mousse & Passion Cheesecake, 4 drinks

used 4 wishes(136.00 value) Total bill was 140.85

Day 6
Lunch @ LeCellier Steakhouse (Epcot)

Dinner @ Rain Forest Cafe (DT)
This was another fabulous meal!! Definitely worth spending your wishes on.The server was very helpful in informing us of what we could order with the plan.We even got our drinks in large souvenier mugs!
Appetizers=2 Cheese Sticks, Blue Crab Dip, Shrimp Cocktail
Entrees=Shrimp Pizza, Shrimp Platter,Stuffed Lobster, Steak & Lobster
Desserts=Key Lime Pie, Choc Diablo, 2 Banana Cheescakes

Day 7
Lunch @ Castle (MK)
Another great meal. It was the last of our trip, and we thought ending it in MK would be awesome. The food was wonderful as always, and our server "DANA" was exceptional ! We were also lucky enough to witness a marriage proposal at the table next to us!! Can you say major PIXIE DUST?!?!
APPETIZERS=2salads,Seafood eggroll,Soup of the Day (Corn chowder)
Entrees= Lunch Pastas,King Cut Prime Rib, Focaccia Sandwich
Desserts=2 Crown Sundaes, Choc Cake, Apple Custard
Drinks= 2 Smooties, 2 diet cokes
used 4 wishes(136.00 value) Total bill was 149.00

We also spent wishes on:
60 minute Pontoon Rental

used 2 wishes(68.00 value) Total bill was74.00
(We were billed at the canopy boat price, but given a pontoon bc Jeanne had damaged the canopy boats)

2 While Walt is Away Clocks
used 2 wishes(68.00 value) Total bill was ?

In the end, our total bills would have been $1,941.95
A total of 48 wishes cost us $1632.00

So, we did very well with the plan going over by $313.95

I do want to say that I don't think we could have done this well if I had not researched all the restaurants we were interested in, and planned all of our PS's.
We ate like Kings and a Queen, and are very ,very happy !!:jester:

Any questions?? Feel free to ask

If you don't mind me asking, how did you do so well on the silver plan? Was there a way that you thought about what you ate or anything like that?

We are currently thinking about it for next september and would have about 14 wishes that we would use on food. Since I don't eat much (and we have used the vouchers a couple of times with the romance plan) we typically use one at a meal and share. We will be there for 7 nights.

We knew that we wanted to try and spend at least 34.00 per person per meal. But we also knew that there would be some meals that we went well over that, and a few that would be under, like the breakfast for example.
We went with the mind set that we would be able to order foods that we typically do not order here while dining out, especially our kids  and took advantage.

There were several times that we didn't finish everything, heck with so much food it was hard.Especially for me.
We did take our desserts back to the room several times, and enjoyed them later on in the evening.

I think, even with your planning to share meals, that if you plan accordingly, you could come out good as well.

Did each of your children have their own wishes or did they both share 1 set of adult wishes? I am not sure how the wishes work but I have always wondered if wishes can be shared. (Like vouchers)
Thanks for your great reviews! It sounds like you had a WONDERFUL time eating!

Each of my children had their own set of wishes. They are 10 & 12, therefore considered "juniors" and were thus charged the adult wish price.
But I do believe you can use them to share a meal if you desire.

However, if you decide to purchase the Silver Plan, everyone in your party must be on the silver plan. Then all the wishes are combined into one central pool. What you do with them from there, is up to you.

Each person in the room gets 2 wishes per night. So her kids would have each gotten 2 wishes per night as well. But, the wishes are all lumped together, and are attached to the room ressie, not the individual person. So you can share wishes however you'd like.

I'm going with you guys next time:) I love people who get dessert. sounds like you did the plan right. Great report.
How was the Beef Barley soup at LeCeller?

Kae

kandmwedding,
I think I understand. So, if everyone in our room has two wishes per night, but we want to eat three meals using those by sharing a few entrees at breakfast, lunch and dinner--we could do that. Is that right?

For sharing your reviews,I enjoyed them.::yes:: :wave2:

Thanks for your reviews. On our recent trip we ate at sitdown meals and spent a lot more on food than on previous trips, so I've wondered how we would do on the Silver Plan. Thanks for giving these examples.

Great reviews. One question, how did you rmeeber the prices of all the meals? I hope I can do half as good as you, usually I dont do it, never have the time, but this time I will have the weekend following my trip so looks like i should be able to :D

Hi Gail

Nothing amazing there.......we saved our receipts :teeth:

At the end of each meal, the server brings two receipts, one that you sign and return that has all the prices and total listed. The other is yours, but has zeros for all the amounts. It also tells you how many magical wishes you have remaining. My DH simply wrote the total on our copy and saved them.
We wanted to keep track to see how we came out in the end.

Hi Kae :wave2:

DH had the Beef and Barley soup, and he loved it. I also had a taste :teeth:
It had chunks of beef, onions and veggies.Very hearty, and very good ;-)

But I have to say, the Chedder Cheese soup was my favorite!!!

Great review.

We have the silver plan for our trip Oct 26-3l. We have all our wishs planned, dinner meal each day, 2 tours, dinner show and Cirque du Soleil. One of our meals is at Nine Dragons (Epcot) and I have noticed that you can have a meal for two. We were going to share that meal so I can have a wish for the sculpted figurine timepiece. I noticed that you took that. Can you describe it, is it worth the wish.
