Just returned , Silver Plan Meal reviews !!

Great review TooBoyz!! I liked the way you broke it down, it was easy to see what your family ordered and how much it WOULD have cost you if you did not have the silver plan.

We also are doing the silver plan this month and I cant wait!! We also save our receipts and even place them in our photo album next to the food pics..

Great review.

We have the silver plan for our trip Oct 26-3l. We have all our wishs planned, dinner meal each day, 2 tours, dinner show and Cirque du Soleil. One of our meals is at Nine Dragons (Epcot) and I have noticed that you can have a meal for two. We were going to share that meal so I can have a wish for the sculpted figurine timepiece. I noticed that you took that. Can you describe it, is it worth the wish.

Not sure if it's the same one now but this is ours from July 2003. It is very nice and I think it was worth 1 wish.

Yes, thats the same one we got ! Thanks for posting those pictures BuzzLady! We collect the clocks, so for us, it was worth every penny of the wish it required :teeth:

Thank you for your detailed report of your meals at WDW. Can you explain what the "Silver Plan" is and how the "wishes" work? I have never heard of these things before. I am always interested in ways to save money at WDW!

Thanks for your help!

Wow buzzlady!

Thanks for all the information about the Silver Plan! Since we booked our room at the WLV using my parents' DVC points and didn't do a Dream Maker Package, I guess we can't participate in the Silver Plan. But thanks again for giving me details about a plan I had never heard of before.

Thanks Chris for the report - and especially the breakdown.

Quick question though, your total bill amounts - did that include what you would have left for tip? If not, then that's an additional savings....

Great report. Very informative! With just a 5 year old and myself, I don't see the value for us... but could I be wrong?

If you are charged per room for the Silver Plan approximately how much does that add to your bill per day. You said $136.00 per meal but what is the actual charge to you per day - since someone said 2 wishes per person per day would it be an additional $172.00 per day? Please explain.

Hi there!
The wishes are added into your total for the package, of which is due about 6 weeks before you get to the world, so your wishes have already been paid for before you get to your resort, they are in a big pool and you just use your room charge to use them.

The 136.00 she mentioned was one wish per each of the 4 people in her party ($34.00 per wish)

She gets two wishes each per day so each person in her party is paying $64.00 per day for those 2 wishes.

For example my mom and I are going next month and using wishes, we are staying for 10 nights so we have 20 wishes each.
and they will all go into a pool on our account with a total of 40 wishes to use as we would like.

If we go to dinner at a 1 wish restaurant they will take off 2 wishes.

If she stayed at the resort and I only went out to eat the entire time (LOL) I could use all 40 wishes (and they would roll me home) because they are combined.

I hope this helps!

One of the most informative posts I've ever read. Thanks! Like Liv2CdWorld, though, did your final tally include how you would have tipped? I realize gratuity is included, but do they say how much the gratuity is? If it's 15% vice the 20% for good service I tip, then that would be extra savings, indeed.

Hi,
I can answer you on how much the tip is, with the wishes the tip is 15%.
When Mom and I go, im going to make sure to write everything down and come back here to tell everyone what piggys we were...LOL

We usually write down how much we would have spent at each restaurant, but we never remember just what we ate, I will write it down!

I can tell you we ate LUNCH at Alfredo's in Epcot back when it was a 1 wish restaurant, it is 2 now, and our lunch for just 2 of us (Adults) came to over 200.00 before tip!

We had only spent around 60.00 for both wishes!

That is probably why it is now a 2 wish restaurant...LOL

Okay, not food related but....

How do they know in the special viewing locations if you are on the silver plan? Is there a sticker on your key or a ticket you cary or something? Thanks.

Chris.

Great report, it was all that and a bottle of diet coke.

Hi there!
This is my first year doing the viewing locations, but they give you a voucher, we have gotten them before but just didn't use them.

You have to call 45 days in advance for the Illuminations and AK Mickeys Jammin Jungle Parade viewing.

You have to call 10 days in advance for Wishes viewing.
I think you have to call 407-wdw-tours.

Your resort card will say something like silver plan 2 Adults (or however many in your party) or something like that and then the waiter or waitress will look at it before you place your order to verify that it is written on it, and then at the end they take your card and deduct however many wishes you used.

If you use your wishes for Cirque du Soliel you call for your tickets just like you would normally and then they hold them at the box office and you give them your room key/card and they deduct the wishes and give you your tickets.

I don't know how it works for the tours yet, but we are going on the KTTK tour next month so we will find out then.
