First let me say that I was supposed to check out tomorrow but due to Wilma thought it would be wise to hit the road back home before all the wind and rain.
POFQ is a favorite of mine (close behind WL) Love the themeing , the grounds and the atmosphere. BUT...I stayed there in April and also had a few mousekeeping problems and this time although they are always little things I think many of us who are used to that extra special touch Disney always had it makes a difference. And yes they are "little" things and I am usually not much of a complainer I did notice them.
Check in was great, got a room at 11 am close to where I wanted to be and actually I liked it better since I was on the beginning of the walking path so it was no problem doing my 6 miles every morning.
Room was clean although there was no pen and paper by the phone, there was no laundry bag.
Next day still no pen or paper and no new toilietries, no soap, no shampoo. and quite honestly I feel that you should get fresh everyday whether you use it all or not! The liner for the ice bucket had been used and never replaced and also no new glasses put in the room, I had left a tip the first day but after that felt that the service that my room was getting was not up to par. The bed was thrown together, not even neatly. We all pay quite a bit for that "magic" and somehow I think that it is slipping. Last year at the WL they started pressure cleaning windows of the Artists Point restaurant at 1230am! I do plan on writing an email to Disney. As I stated they are only little things and I am sure it could be much worse but I would think that the mousekeepers would have a check off list for each room..........I will be returning in Dec though.

I agree, although they are only little things, sometimes it is the little things that are really missed. No new shampoo, soap or glasses would really hit home with me, epecially the glasses. And no bag in the ice container would also be a real annoyance to me. When we were at Pop, our beds were just thrown together, but that I could live with. That was the only problem I had with Mousekeeper there, but I thought maybe they are instructed not to spend too much time on the beds if they don't need to be stripped down.

We have a reservation for 3 nites next month at POFQ...but I am starting to reconsider and change my reservation for AKL..I think my two little boys might like it better??

:confused3

I just returned from POFQ on Tues. and did not have any problems with mousekeeping. I left a $3 to $4 tip everyday and when I came back into the room, I had more soap, shampoo, etc. By the time I checked out, I had enough toiletries for several weeks! One thing which was different from my usual stays at Disney Resorts is that the room was not generally cleaned until late in the day. I have been used to going to the parks in the morning and coming back to a fresh room in the afternoon.

Chyam,

I'm sorry to hear you were disappointed. We had quite a different experience. We returned yesterday from a week-long stay at POFQ, and I must say our mousekeeper was great. We were in building 4. We do not use all the toiletries -- I bring my own facial cleanser and shampoo -- but we got new ones every day. It seemed so wasteful. We even got towel animals! I'm glad you're not letting this experience keep you from returning. POFQ is such a pretty, peaceful resort. I hope you get a satisfactory response to your email.

I totally agree with you the resort is beautiful and very peaceful, as far as the toiletries, I don't use them either but I always send them to a woman in MA that puts them into gift bags for children with cancer in the hospital up there, I had found her address on this site, so every year I ship a box up, but the point is we pay for the amenities. I was in building 1 and very happy with the location. I just think that the mousekeepers should recieve an incentive or something to do their jobs correctly especially with the prices that are paid for the rooms. And I do realize that sometimes they are pretty busy but missing some of the basics is not what I consider good service especially if they want a tip, and I did leave one the first night so they should have realized that I was a tipper and do a good job.

I hate to say this but it is like this at all the resorts I think. Some mousekeepers just don't care. I had a bad one at WL last year not to mention a terrible view from my room. But like the OP I tipped the first time but after that I did'nt if the room was not done correctly. On a five night stay my room was only cleaned twice and I left a tip for each of those days.I love the WL but this time I am trying POFQ due to dollars and the time of year. I only hope it won't be a disappointment. I will go back to WL as it is still my Fav.

I agree, it is like this at all the resorts. My service at the contemporary in September was not very good at all. Again the beds were thrown together, late service, never new tolieries (though we don't use them all either). But we did stay at Pop 2 nights before moving to the CR and our housekeeping at Pop was wonderful. We stayed at the BC in July and also had great service. I have found housekeeping to be very hit or miss now and it is like this all all of the resorts we've stayed at the past 2 years (11 trips).
