Just spent our spring break at Pop 4/5-4/11. This was our first time at this resort. I've never stayed at a value before and I was pleasantly surprised. It was me, my ds14, ds10 and dd7. The room size was fine. I know many people say it is tiny, tiny. I wouldn't describe it that way. It was fine for what we used it for, sleeping and showering. There was enough room for our luggage, case of water and soda and our cooler. I brought a shower curtain and those 3M hooks to hang in the sink area - that worked great.

We checked in on Saturday around 9:15, check in took about 10 minutes. My son was given a birthday pin and asked what his favorite character was. I had over $400 on my rewards card. I could not apply it to my room charges then, I was told to come back after I had spent the money and then it would be applied. Our room was ready - We were given a room on the 3rd floor in the 80s. After dragging all our stuff to the room (it was far from the parking lot) we opened the door and it reeked of smoke!! I called the front desk and asked for a new room. Was assigned one (which was also ready!) in building 1, first floor (room 1156). This room was fine and in a great location. It was a parking lot view, but it was fine. It was fun walking around and seeing all the towel animals and toys in the windows. We didn't get a towel animal until we asked for one (I did tip daily). My son received a birthday card and balloons from Mickey on our second day. That was a surprise for him!
Everything Pop was fine. Lots of selection, but we didn't care too much for the food. We got one refillable mug for the younger two to share the frozen coke. Saw many people using old Pop mugs and using any old cups for drinks. Never saw a CM say anything to anyone. Bought lots of stuff in the store. A little advice, if you spend $40 you can buy a WDW tote bag for $10. I bought way more than $40, but in drips and drabs, not at once. The night before we left I spoke to the manager who allowed me to buy the tote anyway after I showed receipts.
I've heard about noise from other rooms - I didn't hear anyone talking. The people in the room next door even stopped me to apologize for their crying baby and hoped he hadn't disturbed us. I told her I never heard him, which was true. However, you definetly hear toilets flushing and showers running. Again, no big deal. We watched Epcot fireworks one night by the lake. That was nice, saw lots of bunnies and ducks. I did see lots of people sitting outside of their rooms with chairs smoking and drinking. I didn't like that, but it wasn't by my room so I was fine with it.
We only used the bus to MK one time. Waited about a half hour to get picked up from Pop. At the MK, Pop was the furthest stop but the busses kept coming in for pick up so there was no wait. We used our car the rest of the time and we all liked it better than the bus.
I think I would stay here again - I don't think I would in the summer though. I bet the pool and food court would be packed. I was waiting for my kids to complain about the resort since we've been lucky enough to stay at the Poly and the WL but they liked it.
Just wanted to share my thoughts of the resort. Any questions, I'll try and answer. Sorry it was so long!
My kids liked the pool. I was worried about not having a slide (we've always stayed at mods and deluxes) but they never said anything and just had a great time.

POP is the only WDW resort we have stayed at so far. Most likely will be the only one we ever stay at, too...lol

We spend so much time at the parks, waterparks, and DTD that we mostly just used the resort to sleep and eat:)

The best part was our DD5 reaction to all the props and playing Twister, climbing on the Big Wheel. A couple of the bunnies even came over to us and took some lettuce and carrots from her!

Hi - did you notice if they were doing anything poolside....activities or movies?
Did you notice a coffee maker in the room....I thought they were not supposed to have them but someone on another thread mentioned one in a Pop room. Did you need to do any laundry and if so how did that go.

SOunds like you had a great time!!

I think around 4:00 they announced Big Wheel races were happening, my kids didn't even know what a Big Wheel was and wasn't interested!! Didn't see/hear anything else happening there.

There wasn't a coffee maker in the room. There was an iron/board and a hairdryer.

I did do laundry, by the bowling pin pool (there was also one by the Hippy Dippy Pool). It was $2.00 a load and one time in the dryer was enough. The laundry room was clean, there was a change machine and a vending machine. It was busy the whole time I was there. People just kept coming in - every machine was used. This was about 5-5:30pm.

Silly question, but what do the totes for $10 look like? I will be there in May & I never have a problem spending money in their gift shop lol

Thanks for the report.

We stayed at POP and also liked it.

In Oct before our WLV stay we were going to do the Poly for 3 nights.
With DD, DH and mom and I. With 2 Queens......i thought we might just
get 2 rooms at AsMo or POP. This would cost half the price....and we would each get our own bed.

tinknme- The totes look like the Lands End one. They are a beige canvas, the straps are navy blue as well as the bottom and the stitching says Walt Disney World 1971 with a Mickey head. There is velcro to close it.
Hope that helps. I can't take a picture for you, my camera died on the trip and I have to buy a new one!

Thank you! I will check it out while I am there.

thanks also for the tote bag description - i can only hope this offer will be available when we're at Pop in december (last october, there was an offer for a throw blanket - would have much preferred the tote bag!!!)

when we last stayed at Pop we also saw people filling up not only refillable mugs, but regular cups - and no CM said anything to them

Glad you liked Pop and had a good stay :goodvibes . We are also deluxe family, WL and Poly, and thought Pop was a fun place. thanks for posting the info on the tote bag. I never thought to bring all my receipts and ask. We spent over $100 in Gift shop but not all at once. Now I know for next time.

Our kids love the POP.

We are DVC members with the Beach Club as our home resort and our kids still like the POP just as much.

Because DVC points are higher on Friday and Saturday nights moving to the POP on those nights is in our plan.

Here is a photo for you.....I LOVE this bag and wished I had bought 2! I am hoping they are still there in August.

I stuck my Ipod in there so you would have a good idea of its size.

My friend that went with me last May bought one. She uses it at work everyday and everyday I am jealous that I didn't get one. It is a great size and has held up very well for her with daily use. I've taken 3 trips since and haven't seen that offer again. Hope they still have it in May!

To the OP: Glad you had a good time at Pop!!!

You need to watch every store you go into for the specials....I noticed my last trip that some stores had the blanket, some store had a set of lithographs and a few stores had the totes....

Great advice! It's insane how many more points you need for Fri & Sat nights in a DVC resort! Moving to POP - great idea to save some money! :thumbsup2

Sine you have recently been there, can you tell me what buildings would be closest to the busses? We are staying there and want to be close to the bus stops since my daughter tends to fall asleep at the parks and I have to end up carrying her back to the rooms....she weights about 50lbs, so I am looking for the shortest walk while carrying her!
