Just returned from GF and Coronado

I'm sure you had a great time! Which building did you stay in? Did you have an MK view? What was the walk to your building like from the monorail?

We stayed in Conch Key and had a second floor room facing MK! It was truly beautiful. I sent in a fax request three days prior and all my requests were met! We had the MK view as requested, we had the Alice theme as requested, and I was sung happy birthday too at every meal I was at during my stay at WDW. Plus because I told them about my birthday and our celebration of our 4 year anniversary, they sent up champagne one night when we had returned to our room! It was a dream come true. It was probably the furthest building from the main building, but the walk probably took 2 minutes if that to get to the monorail. We were lucky to have the boat dock right in front of our room which took us home each night from the MK. I will do my trip report with photos this weekend, so look for it for the photos of the room and view we had! Thanks so much.

Sounds like you had a great time. We are thinking aobut the GF for our next visit 12/03. Looking forward to reading your report and seeing your pictures since I would also be booking a room with a view of MK.

I am headed to the GF in May and was wondering what the fax # is for room requests for that hotel ???

Wendy,
What did you think of CSR? Did you stay at CSR first or after your stay at ghe GF. Sounds like you had a magical time at GF!

Wendy,

We are staying at Coronado in December. It will be our 17th anniversary (Yes - we got married on Friday 13th!!). Can you provide the fax number for the Coronado to enable us to request a particular room in advance.?

Thanks,

Gordon:cool:

Fax Number for GF is 407-824-3186. I can email you a copy of the request I sent to GF if you want to email me personally.
We didn't fax a request to Coronado Springs, we just took whatever they gave us and we ended up with room with a view of the parking lot in the Casitas- but we didn't care since we arrived there at 1am in the morning on Saturday due to airport delays and were just eager to get in a room and go to sleep. Since we were checking out first thing Sunday morning we just didn't really care what kind of view or anything we received there. I will say out of all the moderates, since I have now stayed in all three, I like the Carribean the best, Dixie Landings second and Coronado last. Carribean's rooms looked nicer and prettier landscape. Dixie Landings/Riverside had a more peaceful environment and a theme all its own. Coronado was pretty just the same, but too convention like for my taste. Maybe that's only because I compared it with GF for the rest of my stay. But I wasn't impressed with the room furniture or decoration in the room - it looked cheap, unlike the other moderates. I will have photos of the inside of the room this weekend up on my trip report. Sorry to disappoint with my review of the room, but it's my truthful opinion. The only thing I liked was the Pepper Market food court there.

Thanks.

Oh boy, now I'm nervous! I booked POR and switched to the CSR thinking it would be better. Now I am thinking I shouldn't have done that.

I booked the CSR for $79.00 a night and probably would not get that rate again to switch back, so I guess I will have to stay where I am.

Oh well, I will spend most of the time at the parks anyway. Just need a place to sleep.

It's all good :teeth:

Welcome home! Glad you enjoyed the Grand Floridian - I really miss the place! (it's been 3 months since I've stayed there!)

How was the condition of your room? On our last stay, our room wasn't in too great of condition.

:)

AMG:
I wouldn't worry about your decision of the CSR because at $79 a night it would be perfect. For some positives on the resort, it had a great food court, I would go over there again even if not staying there for the fajita plate. Also the dig site looked beautiful at night, although we never got a chance to get over to it while we were there. So you have those two things to look forward to, plus the lobby was nice, it was just the room that wasn't as nice as I thought, but like you said, who cares about that when you have the disney channel on and you are only sleeping there. Don't worry so much and have fun, the less you worry about little details on your vacation, the less you will be disappointed about anything. Hey, you're going to WDW, what could be better than that! Have fun!

California Dreaming:
It was absolutely wonderful in our room. I was wondering if we were going to have any problems with the air conditioning because I heard rumors on the disboards about the automatic air conditioning turning off at night because it was motion sensitive. I think ours was motion sensitive, but it never turned off, it was perfect all the time. I couldn't make one complaint about the GF, except that we checked in at 7am on Sunday morning but yet weren't able to get in our room till 4pm. That put a damper on things since we were never able to get in our midday nap prior to MNSSHP, which meant we ended up leaving there earlier than planned, but oh well, waiting for our perfect room was worth it!

AMG, we loved CSR and we have stayed at deluxes before(WL). We loved the Cabana area, VERY relaxed and gorgeous scenery. I could take a million pictures there. We were given an upgrade to a waterview which really WAS much nicer than parking lot view in this particular building. The grounds are fun to explore, the Pepper Market and Dig are wonderful and so are the CM's. We paid $84 and it was WELL spent! I think the Castitas are where most conventioners stay. We did not see them and if we did, we did not notice! Enjoy:D !

Ah, you have my sympathy on that! Same thing happened to us in July - I can't even tell you how many CM's I talked to and how long we sat in the lobby. :( I think I had three CM's trying to get a rush put on the room from 2:45-4:00.

What wsa your room number in Conch ?

To Wonderlandmom and Wendy,

Thanks for the update. Your right, I don't know why I am making such a fuss. I would be happy staying anywhere as long as I get to go to WDW.

Some people can't even afford to do that.

Can't wait to go! :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce:

Thanks
AMG

Yes, we stayed in Conch Key and I believe our room number was 7231, I can double check that when I get home tonight.;)

Wendy,

I'm so glad you had a great time and I'm happy that faxing the room assignor turned out so well for you. Sounds like you had a magical time.
