Had a fantastic time. Resort was in great shape and I hated to leave. I honestly can't justify spending big bucks at other resorts when POP seems to have it all.

Staff was excellent, plentifull and very nice. Couldn't do enough to make the stay enjoyable.

Bus service was perfect. Never more than a 5 minute wait and their were plenty of POP busses at every park. MK was 20 minute hike, Epcot 15, MGM 15, Pleasure Island 15 depending on route taken, Typhoon Lagoon 15 and Blizard beach 15, animal kingdon 15-20. Drivers were friendly and maximized the bussed with passengers at all times.

Room was quite comfortable. Was in 4311(60's section facing hippy dippy pool) and location was perfect. Room was in great condition and housekeeping made towel animals and window displays every day.

Food court was great. plenty of selections to please all and I thought the prices were reasonable. I'll admit I ate a kids meal or two and was full after eating them. The chicken tenders were great as was the peanut butter and fluff sandwich.

Petals pool bar was awesome. Nice strong drinks and great bartenders. Actually both remembered my name when I walked up the first time from my last visit in August.

Ate at Ohanas and enjoyed it, Liberty tree for dinner was excellent and dinner show at Epcot in Germany was terrific. The food was excellent.

The parks were crowded but very managable with the longest we waited was 45 minutes without fastpass. Soarin at Epcot gets my vote for best ride this year. The ride leaves you amazed.

Pleasure Island was such a sgreat time as always. Mannequins dance palace was off the chart crazy. Went every night and could not get enough of it.

any questions ask away.

That's great!! I'm so glad you had a great time.
We're going to Pop in Oct. We hope we enjoy our stay as much as you did. :)

Glad you had a great stay, how were the buses coming back from the resorts, did you ever have to wait awhile?

Thanks

Busses back from parks averaged 10 minute wait if that. As I stated, there were always pleanty of POP busses.

Hi! :wave2:

This may sound like a weird question, but do you remember if there is an outlet close to the window at POP that I could put up Christmas lights when I'm there? If not, could I bring an extension cord to reach the nearest outlet? Thanks for the info!

glad to hear a nice, pleasant review of Pop. Going next week to check it out for myself.

Welcome back, glad your trip was wonderful!!! Oh, so excited we head to POP in just under 20 days :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

POP has been getting beatin up lately here and there. I booked a quick trip for my daughters birthday who will be there in the college program this fall. I told her there was no way we could be there then and for the holidays, but then I get pangs of sadness when I think of her being alone that weekend.. dining plan sealed the deal - I never stayed at POP and at first glance thought it was too cartoonish and the rooms too small - but it sounds like fun - twister, twist and hustle, hippydippy - groovy and keen - and I am actually looking foward to it.

LOVE YOUR SCREEN NAME - I am at MileMkr77.

Hey neighbor :)

I am looking forward to my time with the family and the mouse and I am happy to be staying at POP. I can't wait!!!!!

I love POP. I have stayed there three times.

Last Christmas I took a mini tree and decorated it with lights too. I put the tree on the table as there is a plug right there. You could probaby move the table in front of the window, but may need an extention cord, depending on how long your light cord is.

We will be at Pop in less than a month and I have a couple questions for you:

1) I heard this resort is very spread out, that if you are in certain buildings you have to walk across the parking lot to get to the bus stop. We will be traveling with my DS (18 months) and my 4 year old DN. This would not be safe with two young children. Did you happen to notice certain buildings being far away or inconvenient?

2) Is it true that the cafeteria and shop is all in one big area, this seems strange to me, too. Just curious.

Thanks for your help in advance!! :flower:

Thanks for sharing with us about your trip!
Thats really cool about the towel animals. I stayed at AKL and didn't get that!LOL

I'm glad you had a great time! I really enjoyed my stay at POP, too! :)

The 90's section is across the parking lot area (cell phone icon building). It appears to be the furthest section from Classic Hall. Yes the resort is spread out but its really not bad. I believe the maps make it look real large but I didn't think it was.

Also is you go to the Generation Gap bridge, which crosses hourglass lake, you have great views of fireworks from MGM and Epcot every night. Most rooms facing the lake in the 50's and 60's section will have this view also. At some moderate and deluxes you don't even get that.

The food court and gift shop are in the same area but there is a semi wall that dividdes the two areas. I noted that you cannot smell food when in the gift shop hence the items you buy smell clean and not like a grease pit (hope thias makes sense to everyone)

I am convinced that there is no reason to spend huge amounts of money on a room that in my case, I am hardly in. I dont need a balcony, could care less about room service and heres another tip, let the housekeeper know you prefer the beds turned down rather then fully made and they will do it for you. So I had turn down service you could say.

AC units in room go as low as 68. I was thinking this would not be cold enough but I must say I froze everynight because it was so cold and lucky me, returned with a cold from it. haha

When I read reviews, I take what some say with a grain of salt. I truly believe people go to hotels looking for issues to gripe about. Since I am Hotel Manager of a Casino Resort in AC, I go to a hotel with the expectation that I will have a great time and anything considered above the norm to me is icing on a cake. Its a vacation after all.

I just booked POP for next June already. Only 352 days till I return hehe.

hey 63! i am 63 as well! where on the island do you live? i'm in ship bottom-i also just got back from the WL. we saw a minivan at the YC on friday june 3 while we were going to eat at the steakhouse w/ an exit 63 siicker & southern stickers on it-was that you or were there more of us there at the same time? small world!

Hi Neighbor~

I am in Loveladies by the LBI foundation building, right up on the beach. Built this house here 3 years ago. I actually grew up in Ship Bottom on 20th street. It is a small world.

My friends and I flew down from AC and did not have a car. More Islanders in Disney at the same time is COOL. We ate at the Flying Fish on 6/3 and enjoyed it.

Stayed at WL/GF last year in June and liked it, although I though the WL transportation wasn't the best. We loved the GF though, but couldn't see the expense of staying there again when we were never in the rooms. We had stayed 4 nights WL and 7 GF.

POP Centurey workled out very well for us and we had a blast there. I look forward to returning there next year. I think its a great deal to stay there.

Stay well.

Glad you had such a great time. We leave in 4 weeks staying at pop. Can't wait. Family and fun are most important, who cares if it's classed as value. Maybe WDW should consider re-naming their classifications. (lol)
