Okay, here's my unsolicited based on no concrete evidence theory:

On Saturday, August 20th just before the Magic pulls out of Los Angeles for the last time (or is it?) someone (Eisner? DCL Prez?) will announce that "wait! the west coast hasn't seen the last of DCL and (one of the two ships) will be back in LA for the summer of 2007" ... and hopefully they will then tell us when the itineraries will open up for booking (I doubt August 20th).

If that happens, I'll be on the phone first thing and be booking a repo.

Susan,

I agree with you. I think they will say something either right before they leave LA or on that Cruise, but probably no later than the sail away party or the welcome show. It will be the buzz on the ship.

Like you posted earlier, a handful of TA's knew of the repos a week earlier than it went public, and the return repo is just over two weeks away.

Maybe they plan to open new bookings for future repo cruises to the people currently on this repo.

::yes::

This is my farfetched theory.
I think DCL is going back to the West Coast but... this time Alaska!
What if the Wonder is really going in for an extended Dry dock, maybe that's why they are accepting no more bookings for Sept. 10-30, 2006. Add those weeks to the already scheduled Oct. 1-14 Drydock there would possibly be enough time to make the Wonder better for sailing Glacier Bay.

Ahh, just wishful thinking on my part!!LOL

kasey I like your thinking! Would love to do Alaska on DCL

OOOOOH! This reminds me of waiting for summer 2005! How exciting!

I love the way you think!

Just curiosity does any other cruise line sail to Alaska from LA? I've always seen them sailing from Seattle or Vancouver. My guess is that DCL will still want to come from LA (land/sea packages with Disneyland), but I'm not sure 7 days would be enough time. Of course personally I'd be up for a 10 day!

I think there may be a few Alaska Repo cruises leaving out of LA. I believe HAL, Princess and Celebrity each have ships sailing out of San Francisco to Alaska. All those itineraries are more than 10 days though.

Most 7 day cruises are R/T Seattle or Vancouver or one way North or South bound.

My wife wants to do something special for our 5th (2007) and she has already discussed Hawaii and Alaska. If DCL was going to Alaska in 2007 that choice would be a no-brainer.

Jeff

I think they are going to Hawaii and will make use of the property they own there! Remember that Florida and Hawaii are the number 1 & 2 places to go for a trip! When I think of Alaska , I don't think of chidren....usually an older group. :cool1:

Well, if we're going to dream....how about transatlantic...take us from WDW to Eurodisney and leave us there?

To Alaska sounds great, but they would have to come from ports in the pacific northwest instead of LA (that would be dandy to me since i could DRIVE to port then) and I don't see them doing that.

Has anyone heard of the success or not of the Disney eco-vacations they were doing this year (ie grand canyon, etc) as that might determine if they would venture to non-theme park areas.
