I did this in April! Don't you just LOVE IT! :cool1: Have an awesome time!

I have a question. Actually, I have several. First of all, this wasn't a ding so the rule is to watch the websites too but how do you book that particular fare? I tried just to see and it didn't give me the fare listed.

Also, these new fares popped today but they are only for September. What are the chances they will do this for October?

All you veterans of the airfare wars, give me some tips. Watching all these different websites is giving me a headache!

Thanks! :listen:

Advil, Tylenol...whatever it takes...keep watching;)

LOL!!

Have you tried one of the search sites, ie, ITA software, or Kayak?

HTH!!
:sunny:

Just booked by airfare out of Albany for August 25th. Saved $85.

We're driving back, but I checked anyway just to see, but all the $49 were sold out on September 2 (the Friday before Labor Day). So drive we will.

But I have my $85 for my return January trip.

Woo hoo.

Hey, I just booked from Albany, too for $115! When are you going? We're going 22-29 Sept. I fly a lot, but honestly cannot remember ever flying SWA out of Albany...how's their staff locally? Anything I should watch out for?

:wizard: I just booked our flight to Orlando from Albany as well @ $49 each way. Our flights back are $99 so we havn't booked them yet. :flower: Rebecca

I saw the talk here and grabbed $134.00 RT for 6 of us between Louisville and Orlando in September. I've flown a hundred times but never with SWA. How do they do their seating and how can I help my cause with 6 of us??

Gooofy-Blade,
Are any of the six of you under age 4? If so, immediate family members (i.e.
child's parents and younger children, maybe not teenagers) should be able to preboard. If no one is under 4 you still shouldn't have a problem as long as you do online checkin shortly after midnight the day of travel. Just go on the website right after midnight and print your boarding passes and you will get
A passes (Southwest boards A, B, and C lines) The first people to checkin will get A's and so forth. On your return trip simply go to the front desk of your
hotel again shortly after midnight the day of travel and ask them to print your passes for you. We've done this several times with six of us and never a problem. SW is great.......IMO they have the BEST customer service in the industry....I've never run into a nasty SW person. Not to mention, they consistently have the BEST prices. I'm impatiently waiting for December.
I'll book as soon as schedule comes out and then cross my fingers and hope they run another systemwide sale for my dates because they also will credit
you for any difference in fare already booked. Have a great trip!!!

Woohoo! I got a deal too! $135.40pp from Kansas City to Orlando. I had previously booked at $202pp. I called SWA and they credited my cc the difference! Woohoo! :cool1:

I was able to get the $49 fares out of Albany today too-we are leaving August 28th-September 11th. I am planning on printing my boarding tickets this time because usually I get stuck with "B" and we get there at least an hour and a half early. It shouldn't be too mobbed during this time though because I don't think it's a big travel season with back to school.

DudeDisney:

This morning I got an email from SWA regarding a "Click and Save Systemwide Sale", so i booked it straight away. I dont have the "Ding" as DH took it off the computer as it was slowing my machine down a bit too much. Anyway, if you dont want to sit by the computer and "fare watch" then sign up for all the airlines email alerts, perhaps that will be just the "ticket" as they say! :goodvibes

Good Luck!

I also got the $49 from Philly to MCO for my sept trip....

It's so nice to see so many people take advantage of such a great airfare sale. I know I'm very happy about it...I've been keeping a very close eye so I could jump on it the day it started!
Tara, The Southwest employees at Albany airport are great. Very funny to listen to when they start gathering everyone up to get on the plane....
We are leaving on September 24th to go visit my nephew who is going to technical school down in Orlando.
I hope everyone has a great trip!!
Debbie

You should always do online checkin. Frequently SW will only allow one parent to pre-board. On flights to Orlando SW will sometimes not allow ANY families to pre-board. Makes sense since allowing half the plane to pre-board doesn't do anything to improve the boarding process but isn't fair to the rest of the passengers.

Had to convince DH to fly instead of driving since we live in Atlanta, but I knew it was a good deal since you would not have to pay so much for gas-we have a big SUV and with gas prices as they are a trip down there will about cover one way for whole family. We will just driving over to Birmingham 1-1/2 hr drive and kids will get their first ride on an airplane, DD 5 always talks about flying. Oh I almost forgot got $39/ one way. Last week the best deal was $73/ one way that's almost half. Thanks for the heads up

I Agree totally!!

I remember our last trip out of Albany,NY when everyone was in line the guy came on and said 'Is there anybody NOT pre-boarding???'
Boy...was he right!

For all of you that get low fares, YOU HAVE NO IDEA how jealous I am. I wish I stayed in a city where I could fly SWA. The closes is Chicago and that is an 7 1/2 hour drive.

Congratulations!
