I just purchased 160 points in animal kingdom and received $1000 which I put back into the purchase price, 1 week rci and some standard fastpasses, what do you guys think, I'm very excited as well.

Congratulations!! Did you buy at California?? That sounds like the incentives they have out there. Let us know if this is the current incentives at WDW.... :thumbsup2

I like the fastpasses. What does that mean? For how long are they valid.

Actually I bought in wdw although I'm living in California. This incentive ends tmw and will aparently never be run again due to legal reasons according to our guide.

What part of the incentive has legal issues? I don't see how it could have been Fast Passes that are a problem... Love to know if they elaborated any on that!

Weren't you give the option of the cruise/ssr points? Or did you pick the RCI trade? Were the fast passes for you trip you were just on??

We are all trying to find out what the new incentives will be after tomorrow!! Thanks and congratulations.. Just curious why you picked AKL vs BLT??? We are trying to decide too!!

i heard that its something to do with applying the 1000 straight to the down payment. you still get 1000 off but it comes as a gift card or something like that. anyone want to elaborate? :confused3

There is a thread on DVCNews about it; quoting:

Beginning March 29, 2009, the promotional discounts will no longer be included in the mandatory 10% downpayment. Thus an individual wishing to buy 160 points at the Animal Kingdom Villas would have to provide a deposit equal to the full $1,792 plus closing costs. Incentive discounts would then be deducted from the remaining balance.
