I miss the Magic so much already, so here's a little cruise recap!
My party of 4 was all adults, split into two VGT rooms. We lucked out and got mid ship connecting rooms (6600 & 6602). Very close to the Aft elevators. We LOVED this location!!
We also were right on top of the Buena vista theater but never heard anything.
(Our mousekeeper Pa was so lovely. She was a real treat!)
We requested our servers from our last Magic cruise in April and got one of them! (The other moved to the Fantasy)
Dinner was always a hoot
As I've seen some other posters mention before, they really are pushing the end of the cruise comment cards now. Even in April they didn't mention it until the last night, but this time they REALLY wanted us to fill them out. We didn't mind though as we felt we had excellent service.
Wasn't able to get a Palo brunch online (Silver), BUT was able to snag one when we got on board. We had never done it before and were very impressed. I guess we also lucked out there, our server told us the waiting list was 7 pages long since there was only one sea day
I had never done a Merrytime cruise before and I really enjoyed it. Everything was decorated beautifully. It was just enough, but not too much. I'd totally do one again.
CHARACTERS! I'm a big character person so of course I had to see everyone in all their different outfits
(and there were A LOT of outfits). I had such a great experience with them this trip, they all seemed extra attentive and fun this cruise.
I did notice though, that some of the attendants were very up close during the interaction. Like getting in the way of pictures close! I understand them needing to be close if the character needs help signing something or getting a message across, but some were way close when neither of those things were happening.
(I brought a big tsum tsum Dumbo to get signed by the characters, and I started being recognized as "that girl with the dumbo"
When I didn't have it with me people would ask me where Dumbo was
)
Final Thoughts
This was such an amazing cruise. You could tell that the boat was not at capacity, and I liked it being quieter. Character waits were good, food was good (as always), cast members were very fun, and Castaway Cay was beautiful! (It was windy so our stingray adventure was cancelled, but we made it work)
This itinerary had Castaway Cay as the first stop. I personally didn't like this, as Castaway has become my "I'm ready to go home goodbye" stop. We picked this cruise because the dates worked for us, but if I had the choice I would have picked where Castaway was last.
No idea when our next cruise is, but we have a placeholder so I'm hoping soon
If anyone has questions I'll try my best to answer them!
