Great report. Thank you. We did not know Southwest refused to check bags over 4 hours. We never got to the airport that early. Still have to love them and no baggage charge.

I relate to the depression afterwards. So much planning - such a wonderful time and then over. That's why we always book for the next time. DH and I require that carrot to look forward to chasing and catching for the next cruise.

If we can find a better deal on American next time (where it doesn't matter if they charge for bags), then we might do it. Up until now, Southwest has been a little more than AA, but not so after you figure in the price for two checked bags on AA for each of us.
