Just off the 2/24 Magic, any questions?

We had a wonderful cruise! 4 nights on the Magic—Miami, Day at Sea, Nassau, Castaway Cay, then back to Miami. We were in a 5A cabin, 7554.

1,333 passengers reported and, not surprisingly, the ship didn’t feel crowded at all.

And finally, we were nervous about pre-embarkation testing, but it was very smooth process. 40 minutes from test to results and in that time, I didn’t see anyone sent to “consult”, although of course I was only watching for a limited time.

All times were available when we booked the PAT, but we chose 1:15 to 1:30. I forget our group number if we had one, but we arrived right at 1:15 and were on the actual ship an hour later, at 2:15.

We were first-time cruisers so I don’t know all the answers, but …

Yes, outside Lumiere’s, in socially distant spaces.

Our waiter said Cabanas would be open on debarkation day but I don’t remember the time.

And I didn’t ask about an MDR on embarkation day (although it clearly wasn’t Lumiere’s) or the Rainforest Room, sorry!

I just got off as well, Cabana’s was open today from 7:30-8:30 and Lumieres is the concierge lunch on embarkation day.

We're doing that exact cruise in a few weeks! I'm so excited. Any specific advice for first time cruisers? Did you have kids who used the kids club? We're struggling with knowing how to schedule it without knowing when various activities are happening (both in the kids club and around the ship). Any thoughts on that?
And logistically... half our group is 10:30 - 10:45 and the other half is 10:45 - 11:00. We'll also be arriving separately (coming from different directions). Can we meet up in the waiting room for the test results? would that be the best place or should we meet outside before we officially go in? If so, will it be bad if one if a few minutes early or one is a few minutes late? Thanks!!!

Really hoping/thinking that with case numbers dropping so much, there will be far less of those getting turned away at the port.

So excited for you and your family!

We travelled with our almost 7 year old son and used the kids club almost every day. We chose afternoons for him, just because we tend to like to do more active stuff in the morning when it’s cooler. And from what my son told me, they did about the same rotation, activity-wise, no matter when he was there. And most of the activities on the ship are repeated, too, so you really can’t go wrong!

And logistically, I’m pretty sure you could all enter together at 10:45 with no issue, or meet inside after testing. Everyone waited in the post-testing area together, no divisions at all.

And others may disagree, but as a first-time cruiser on a shorter cruise, I’d recommend fewer port adventures. We only did one and cancelled the other, and honestly would have been happy with none. There’s just so much to do already between the ship and Castaway Cay!

They did not see strict about masking for personal photos, but were if you were taking a photo with a character. Masks had to be on then.
