Just noticed American idol and maelstrom closed permanently what's replacing?

Hi,
I am definately bummed about Idol closing!! Was this not popular. There is hardly anything doing there as it is and thought it was a nice addition.
Anyone know what is replacing it?

As for maelstrom well.... On a hot day in Epcot with no line it was a nice break but did chuckle inside when I have seen a wait for that ride.
What is replacing that?

Ironically, both Frozen attractions. The Frozen singalong in HS is moving to the same auditiorium that AIE was in, and Maelstrom is being converted into a Frozen ride.

Loving the frozen ride..... But I will miss AI. Thought that was a great addition to a floundering park.
For a wuss like me anyway that doesn't like rock n roll or tower of terror. And my daughter is 13 now so playhouse and such is out.
Do you know what this sing a long will be like?

The sing a long already exists, it's just being moved to a new location. You can look it up on Youtube to see what it's like.

I really enjoyed the sing a long! It already exists in the park, it's just being moved to a bigger theater in a more accessible location. If your daughter enjoys Frozen, she will love it. It was very cute and fun, and even got some laughs out of me

The American Idol experience never seemed to be that popular among the members of these boards,I liked it as it was fun to see regular park goers go up on stage,I actually saw several of them over the years that were really good.Some shows were better than others but overall it was a good attraction.I think it could have lasted a few more years but with changes at DHS coming and then finally the TV show getting cancelled with only one season left I can understand it getting removed.I feel the same way about Maelstrom,I liked the ride but it was there a good while and a change was needed,I hope the new ride doesnt feel like it belongs in Fantasy Land,basically I would like an updated Norway ride with some Frozen thrown in.

We were at the very last "AIE" show, ( we loved the finale shows) --- and although it might not have been popular on the boards, they did develop quite a following --- lot of tears shed after the last show--- we miss it !!
