Just moved to the UK, and need help choosing drinks.

For a non-alcoholic drink try Vimto.

Oh yes very nice - and available as still squash to mix yourself or as fizzy pop too! And my kids love it (sugar free of course!)

Booknut - What is your favorite wine? I'm not a wine conessieur (I can't even spell it) but I love a good red wine, any recommendations? I can't wait to try some real champagne but haven't a clue about that either.

Well I don't drink much but when I do I love red wine. Our favourite for the last year has been a Chilean Cabernet called Isla Negra, you can get it at Tesco etc, its a really lovely wine and is currently on sale (case of 6 for £19.89!!!). We also like Castillero del Diablo Cabernet, Dao (portuguese wine), any Chateau Neuf du Pape for special occasions. I'm not that keen on white wine as it generally gives me headaches so I wouldn't be good at recommending - having said that I had one a few months ago, it was a Pinot Grigio, Valentino something (sorry can't remember!). It was nice.

Now, champagne :) A wonderful drink at any time of day ;) I love Veuve Clicquot, Lanson Black Label and surprisingly, Tesco's Premier Brut Champagne is quite nice too (plus think of all the clubcard points you'll get!) :rotfl2:

You can't go wrong really with champagne! Add some orange juice and you're all set for breakfast ;)

Happy drinking

PS When this baby comes out its going to be champagne and Watermelon Bacardi Breezers for days on end! :rotfl2:

Hi and welcome:goodvibes

My fav drink is southern comfort in a tall glass over crushed ice with Ginger ale.....yum.... it's also nice with cloudy apple juice but the tip is that it must be cloudy!!

Ginger beer is really refreashing as is old fashioned pink lemonade, even better is elderflower cordiol with sparkling water...

Anyway have fun trying them all ...

Almost forgot, Dandelion & Burdock is something I never had in Canada, its a soft drink and its delicious! It's kind of purple coloured and fizzy, tastes a bit like root beer.

Well I agree with Irn- Brew, I love it, I have also tonight for the first time tried a Tropical Coconut Barcardi Breezer, and you know what, its really rather lovely:)

Hi XTinabell, i am glad you have settled in well. My favourite alcoholic drink is Vodka, lime and lemonade, it is very refreshing, especially in the summer months (if we ever get them!)

I am a bit boring when it comes to soft drinks, i stick to bottled water, squash and fruit juice but i do enjoy a glass of pink lemonade or if we are in the pub, a J20 :thumbsup2

Dandelion and Burdock is the best thing to drink with fish and chips!

I've discovered that Schwepps make a summer punch lemonade which tastes like a non-alcoholic version of Pimms - very nice chilled.

There are lots of different flavours of J20 - I'm sure you will find them at your local.

For a refreshing alcoholic drink on a summers day I don't think you can go far wrong with a plain old lager shandy - not very adventurous but YUM :)
I also like Taboo and lemonade... oh and a dry martini and lemonade also goes down a treat.

As for Ale - my dad swears by London Pride but I don't kno if you can get that in your part of the country...
