Just incredible-Only Full screen Incredibles available at Disney Store

OK, I get it, it wasn't the OP (I seem to have stuck on that). I really need more sleep. Although, I think the store should have told them when they preordered that there would only be fullscreen. I can just imagine all of the headaches this has caused.

Also anybody buying the fool screen version should at least get a 60% off retail because you're only getting approximately 40% of the entire screen-width anyway. :)

When we started the pre-sale we didn't know that we were only going to do the full-screen. When we found out that we were only doing full screen (2 weeks after we started) we were supposed to tell the people who ordered it that it was full screen (at least thats what I did). The people who wanted wide screen and didn't know, we would refund the money, but the lithos needed to be returned also. It has always been that way with any of our pre-sales.

I think saying "be advised" is just that. No one was balking at having to return the litho's just advising they need to be returned and if they mean more to you than the WS DVD you may want to look at other options like gifting the DVD and keeping the lithos.

I thought the post was helpful as most people would assume they could exchange the DVD and not take the lithos to the store only to find out that's all they have and then request a refund and couldnt get one because they didnt have the lithos.

We purchased our copy at Best Buy and received the Lithos.

The fact that someone would ask for a refund without the lithos is amazing. I think it is funny how you interpret as "no one balking" and I interpret as someone who is. I like that you think you are right. This being type and not speech I will concede that it may have been just an informational tone. However, since I was previously employed with the store for many years I witnessed the actions of many returns on gifts with purchase and so on. I don't know the intention of the post and frankly neither do you. But the fact that the refund was even a question is astonishing to me.

The whole tone of the thread was negative, starting off with "downgrading". Not to even mention that people are acting as if it some scam. Doesn't even matter. Bottom line is if you purchase something to receive something for free expect expect expect to have to return it if you don't want to keep your original purchase.

OK you need to get over your self. I was merely trying to inform all of those people, who like myself, specifically get Disney DVD's from the store for the lithos. How did my post start of as "downgrading"?? I asked for a refund and was told to return the lithos. Fine. I didn't make a stink or try to cheat Disney in anyway or demand the lithos as a gift. I was trying to let everyone know to bring your lithos if you want a refund as most folks will find out it was full screen only when they went to pick it up so hopefully I can save them a trip. Perhaps I should have said bring your lithos with you.... But I'm sure you would have complained about that too :rolleyes2

I am curious how that will work out for you. Please update when this happens. You shouldn't have to considering it is would basically be an exchange. However, you aren't exchanging product with the same company. Do they still take Disney Direct returns? Good luck, I hope it works out.

I looked up the return policy on disneydirect and it still says that returns can be returned to TDS, except collectibles. I'll let you know because I'm planning to try today.

I'm not "complaining". I'm merely pointing out that it is amazing that one would even ask to return something without the "gift". Even though it is not a "gift". Considering it is something you get with a required purchase. Another thing I never said you said downgrading. I said the Thread was negative not your post. I even admitted that I don't know what your intent was considering it is type and sometimes the tone can come off differently. But since you can't seem to understand this than maybe you do need to get over yourself.

Just an update. I did go to my local Disney Store today and they happily exchanged my 2 widescreens for 2 fullscreens. No problems at all. I had checked disneydirect online for the return policy and it did still say that TDS will take returns, except collectibles. So I guess the policy is still in force.

I'm glad that worked out for you. I wonder how long they will accept returns. I can only imagine that it was in the contract and it must have had a time limit on it. Most likely when they start DisneyStore.com. Or perhaps a couple of years when the product changes completely over.

Just a reminder to play nice on this thread... Remember, no name calling, no personal attacks. Feel free to disagree, just remember to disagree with the subject matter and not the individual posting it.

"Full Screen" is a ridiculous rip-off. All one needs to do with newer players or TVs is simply adjust the "aspect" of the wide-screen image. Same results.

or with some players, press the "zoom" button. It's available on any Philips, Yamaha, Panasonic, Denon, and Samsung players. It's also available in every lesser-known brands (those $30 WalMart specials ).

Just curious. If I remember the store's presale right, you also got 15% off any additional purchase you made when you bought the presale, besides getting the lithos. Are guests required to pay back that 15% if they ask for a refund? In some cases it would probably end up being more than what they paid for the dvd!!!

Guests were allowed to keep the original 15% off their purchase, the lithographs and they could use their 15% off coupon. I am very glad that for the most part, the widescreen nightmare is over.

I totally understand having a preference for the widescreen but PLEASE remember that the cast member standing in front of you is not the one you should be/may have already screamed at. They had nothing to do with it & no knowledge of it until just prior to release.

Comments regarding dissatisfaction should be relayed to Guest Services. Let your voice be heard.

I ordered 2 from disneydirect and got 2 widescreen ones, no fullscreen. I called and they told me that the shipment did not arrive and they had not gotten any fullscreen. They told me to keep my widescreen version and in April they would send me 2 fullscreen versions. (we'll see). Anyway I thought I could possibly exchange the widescreen at a Disney Store for fullscreen. I shouldn't have to return the litho, since it's not a return, just an exchange. I'm afraid if I wait for disneydirect to fix the order, it might be too late to exchange or return.

Just an Update. Disneydirect is great! I just got the confirmations that I have 2 more movies on the way. So I get 2 movies for the price of one. The nice part was that when I called disneydirect and asked about returning my movies, there was no hassle and the CM was the nicest person ever. She told me no problem, it was their fault because their shipment had not arrived and they would send me the movies when they arrived. When I asked about returning my 2 widescreen movies, she said keep them as a bonus. Now that's customer service! I guess the 2 extra movies will find their way to someone's Easter basket!

umm.... You can walk into ANY wal-mart and exchange an unopened DVD. Even the Disney Store versions. I used to work at Wal-Mart. Just go get the widescreen version, go to customer service and tell them you want to exchange. and you dont have a receipt. Thats all you need to say. You shouldnt have a problem. And if you do, get a CSM and raise heck. Wal-mart will go to all lengths to appease.
