Just hung up with AAA, & more confused/frustrated now, than I was before!!

Okay, I'm going to do it...I talked to a Disney CM this am, and she told me that there was probably not going to be a June discount code. She also mentioned if I did happen to get a code attached to my name, it probably wouldn't include the dates we have reserved (6/9-6/18) :sad2:

Sooooo, I guess a $62 savings is still something to :) about! :yay: One question, though--I called AAA back, and talked to Dale. He said I couldn't qualify for the storytime unless I booked DDP deluxe (we are only buying basic DDP.) :confused3 From reading your posts, this doesn't seem to be the case. Any input? TIA!!

That is not what I got last year. Free Dining (I know no AAA discount but still booked with them), and I got a voucher for the Story Time. Didn't use it however, no little kids here.

He is incorrect. We got storytime with magic your way with regular dining. Have him double check or talk to another agent.

Thank you! I'm on hold w/ him right now. He did say (today) that it's included w/ any dining package. I'm about to fax in the release, but I want to double check on the price before I sign anything. Thanks for all the help everyone!!! :thumbsup2

For anyone who has booked a package with AAA, can you tell me where you can use the Diamond Vacation Card (I think that's what its called) and how much of a discount does it offer?

Thanks!!!!

It is parking for the MK it is supposed to get you closer to the MK. It should be free if you are staying onsite. Since I fly and use DME I have never used one however.

Okay, I'm officially SICK TO MY STOMACH!!!! Earlier, when AAA had me on hold.....he FINALLY came back (after almost 15 minutes) & said ASMo wasn't available! I just couldn't believe it. :sad1: The other 3 values were available, but my kiddos were SO set on ASMo. I've read some yucky reviews on ASMu & ASSports (the abbreviation for that is not so nice, so I spelled it out!!) :rotfl2:

To think, we only wanted AAA for the Disney discount, and now we can't even get the resort we want. :headache: I just don't think the $62 saved is worth having to give up our choice hotel. Dale said he put us on the waiting list, but there's NO way something will come open this late in the game! Again, any advice is much appreciated! ;)

Try booking ASMo online right now.

AAA gets some rooms at each resort with their discount. The fact that no discounted rooms are available does NOT mean that there are no rooms. If it's not worth $62 to change resorts, try booking without that discount.

And just because it isn't available today does NOT mean it won't be available tomorrow. I called on a Friday afternoon and there was nothing available (2 weeks prior to my trip), then called back on Saturday morning and got exactly what I wanted. DO NOT GIVE UP, it can be done.

Hi Aliceacc! I just pm'd you back! Thanks for doing all that research for me. :goodvibes I actually have ressies at ASMo for June 9th-18th, but I just want a discount so bad I can't stand it! :rolleyes1 Thanks, Angela

Ishy and JenB - Thanks for the info! After reading your replies, the storytime sounds like something we would probably take advantage of - going in August and with our UK relatives (who think 70 is a hot day!) I will be looking for any excuse to get out of the sun...so I need to call back and book; it's not something I can just show up for with the voucher?

When you pick up your final papers from AAA (after you pay the balance in full), you'll get the voucher. It includes the number to call to make the Storytime reservation. I've done it twice and always received my first choice of times--easy and no problem.

Do not try to walk in. They are very particular about checking your name on the list of people to be admitted.

I had this same thing happen to me. I actually posetd over on the Code forum and asked for help with AAA.

I, too, got disconnected, transferred, etc. when calling AAA. I, too, told them that I was joining strictly for the travel benefits.

Before calling AAA, I looked on their website to get a travel quote. The quote that I was given was a little over $1,000.00 for room only. Imagine my surprise when I finally got through to a AAA representative and they gave me a quote which was over $100.00 more than their website showed. I told the AAA representative all about what I saw online and she said she couldn't really tell me why there was a difference. I confirmed that she didn't book a preferred room location and that wasn't the problem.

So, I told her that I would call her back.

I went back over to the Code forum and asked somebody with a AAA membership to plug in my dates and see what they came up with. Guess what....the same thing I got.

So, I went back to AAA's website and asked for a vacation quote. Still quoted the price which was more than $100.00 than shown on the website.

By the time I got through talking with AAA, I just said forget it! By the time I paid the membership fee, I really wasn't saving that much anyway. I also didn't feel as if they were competent enough to handle my Disney vacation so I booked my vacation myself through Disney.

But.....I am still waiting for a June code!

Dh and i went in and talked to an agent. the wdw site was down on her computer , so she called. Basically she told the CM she was an AAA agent and asked the same questions to get a quote i could have done myself. It wasnt much of a savings either. I think i knew more than she did. I didnt feel comfortable, so i told her I'd keep looking. She gave me some advice, since my trip isnt until Nov. i still have time to look for a good deal, just to do my research----what the Heck! In my head I was saying "Thank goodness for the DIS MB"-lol!
