I was rather nervous about people giving up seats on buses, etc. since I was bringing my 72 yo mother. Well, I'll tell you-I met more polite people! Not only did she get a seat, I always got a seat-"Why don't you take my seat so that you can keep an eye on your mother." And one day I was walking to Epcot solo and a young boy held the door for me. His family had gone ahead and when they turned around to see where he'd gone, I made sure I told them how nice it was that he'd done that for me. I know lots of people have encountered rudeness, but I have to say, there are some real polite, kind people in this world. I saw a lady trip, and immediately, several people came to her aid (I think the lady only hurt her pride). Well, there was one moment of impropreity-we were returning from MK, got off the bus at BC, and encountered a small garter snake. I quickly learned that lots of people are afraid of snakes, especially when one nice Mom with a stroller screamed "HOLY S****!!!" What was funny was that I'm sure her words came out long before she'd realized what she'd said.
The Disney buses seemed to be especially efficient this trip. I did Soarin', DME, ate lunch at CRT, did the Morocco tour, saw Lucky the Dinosaur, saw "Wishes", any questions?

how nice! it is so nice to see that some folks are raising their kid right.

i have to say that my first reaction to coming up on a snake would be similar - can't fault her (mom or not) for that one. :rotfl:

I said the exact same thing when I reached up to get a "toy" snake that was laying on my classroom floor.. and that 'toy" snake MOVED.

And... my classroom.. is in a church.

Sounds like you had a wonderfull trip!! I am so glad to see a positive report! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!
I have to agree that I may have had the same reaction with a snake.
(side note, My DD and friend have been known to try to "surpirse" me with hand fulls of baby gardener snakes) I just gave myself the willies with that memory. :earseek:

Wow! I'm glad you had such a nice time and met such nice people. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

PS. I called my outside gater snake Guardian, he protected us whatever it is they ate. DH was scared by him once too many time, and so he moved Guardian to the county park. Now, I am not enamored of snakes, but I was willing to co-exist and we did for many years.

As soon as we got on the bus to leave MK after Wishes, people immediately got up and offered us their seats. We had 2 sleeping kids(1 and 4), 2 tired kids, and 2 strollers with us. I was very impressed by how polite everyone was, especially considering everyone on the bus was literally soaked and dripping after a torrential downpour during Wishes.

Lunch at CRT was excellent as usual. We got a window table, which I was so glad of especially since the lunch was a Mother's Day meal for Mom. We had the Portobello mushroom and asparagas, which was the vegetarian choice-I'm really not the one to say how it was-it was Mom's choice to share it. I missed my chicken caesar salad, but the look in Mom's eyes being there-it was worth missing my salad. We each had the bread pudding with maple walnut ice cream and caramel sauce. Very good dessert!

I love to hear stories like this! I'm so glad that chivalry is alive and well and that you and your family were able to experience it. Thanks for sharing, it's good to hear good reports.

Sounds like you had a wonderful time. I myself think I'd have to allow the snake mom her reaction. I would of been just the same.

Oh, yes-"snake Mom" is indeed entitled to her reaction. It was one of the funniest things though-the way she reacted so quickly! I'm sure she didn't even know what she'd said until after she'd said it.

That must be the most common reaction to being surprised by a snake! I worked in a small bookstore and was standing at the front of the store -- my coworker was in the back in the office. I saw a small snake slithering across the floor and I uttered "Oh Sh__" in a scared, but quiet voice. A browsing customer looked up alarmed and I heard my co-worker shout, "WHAT???" before she climbed up on the shelving to see if I was being serious.

We also had two sleeping kids and a stroller by the time we got on the bus at night and someone always gave up their seat. It was really nice to see that people can still do that. My husband always does and I'm glad to know that he isn't alone!
