I got my 4th, but I also lost my first covid card. So they gave me a new one with this one written on it. Problem solved. It had been a year since my last one and once again did flu and covid at the same time. life regrets incoming.

Apparently the LOT # can be used to confirm vaccine records with the CDC. Your Rheum may be simply making sure your record has full complete info if ever needed, unless they've had an issue with patients submitting fake records.

I doubt doctors or anyone else are looking to see if your vaccine records are fake or not. That is not the purpose. The lot numbers are used to keep track of adverse reactions. You can find all the lot numbers on Vaers.

The CDC and probably state/county/local health departments are tracking records for safety and adverse reactions. LOT #s would figure into that.

I know of employers who are checking card/info turned in by employees for fake records -- an employee who claimed to be vaccinated by wasn't -- and they are confirming it by LOT #s. Not a foolproof method by any means but it is happening.

PP's doctor likely just wants a complete and accurate record. Now that my state's health department doesn't offer covid vaccinations any more, those records are not automatically shared. Anyone who gets vaccinated at a pharmacy must self-report that info to their doctor's office, or if vaccinated at a PCP and the specialist wants it in their records again it's self-reported. And yes, they ask for the LOT # to be a complete record. My family sees a lot of different healthcare providers, and yes we've been asked to share not just date and location but also LOT.

When I started a new job a few months ago, I was required to provide the lot numbers for each covid vaccine. Thankfully, this information was provided to me each time I received a dose.

I got my bivalent booster (my 4th shot) a few weeks ago. I had similar effects to the first three- a few days of fever, fatigue, muscle and joint pain, loss of appetite, and a swollen lymph node that lasted for about a week.

I've been a pin cushion this year.
TDAP vaccine
FLU vaccine (the super strong version of the vaccine since I am now over 65)
Two Shingles shots
4th and 5th Covid shots

And I go to the Doctor Monday and I suspect I am due for a pneumonia shot.

7 vaccines in one year, ouch.

Only 1 of those I didn’t get was the Tdap. I had that one in 2020. Lot of use have been pin cushions this year.

Lot numbers are always included in vaccine records. Allows for tracking adverse reactions & recipients of each batch. Nothing unusual about a medical office wanting that info.

Got Covid number 5 ten days ago. Other than a slightly sore arm no side effects.
They wrote the info on the bottom of the CDC card.
Already had my flu shot 3 weeks earlier.

Fourth shot and flu shot about three weeks ago. Trying to stay safe since I have at risk family members and I'm a nanny to an infant.
