Just got off phone with CM...was she right?

We turned in our granddaughters two sets of tickets (I had one with three days left, and her mom had one with three days left, and we had used one for that day for a total of 4 on her mom's ticket) because she was 11 when we went in February, and she wasn't going to be using them up this trip..we wanted to make sure they would exchange them. At first they said to just use them, but once we explained what we wanted to do (use them for a future trip), they gave us a one day adult ticket for each day we had left, and because they were then taking the actual ticket, they gave us an extra day, for the day we were(3 days each) gave her 7 single days..one was swiped to show she used it that very day. I was told that was a once in a lifetime thing, that they don't really do that (Yikes..I thought they always did it..they have for us before). No names ever changed hands, so if they were keeping track, they had no info to keep track of.
Clear as mud LOL?

DD has 5 days left on her childs hopper she won't be using until she's 11 or 12.
She used 2 days last year when she was 9, no one said anything. I don't even think you have to upgrade them. If they stop and check, they'll see the name, date of purchase and other days used. :)

If you bought your child a non-expiring ticket, he used some of the days, and upon the next trip you forgot to bring the ticket, then you may buy him another ticket and both may be exchanged for adult tickets at no charge later.

But if you bought ten non-expiring tickets for your child more or less at the same time and he used one day on each, Disney might notice by the time you or he tried to exchange the fourth ticket and disallow future free child to adult exchanges.

Every situation in between may be handled on an individual basis.

The strategy remains that it is better to save the remains of old tickets for a vacation during which you can live wholly on leftovers. This may result in a child being 11 or older possessing several partly used tickets but probably not with just one day used on each. Disney is less likely to be suspicious of hoarding if you exchange no more than one ticket per child at any given booth or on any given day.

Totally unused child tickets may be given to a different child rather than being traded in using dollar value.

Currently Swan, Dolphin, Shades of Green, Bonnet Creek, and the hotels on Hotel Plaza Blvd. are not included in Magical Express but it is not impossible for one or more to participate in the future by paying Disney for the service. Of these named hotels, Swan and Dolphin have Disney transit to the parks, the others have either their own or shared park buses from another source. There is no problem walking to Downtown Disney from Hotel Plaza Blvd. if you wish to, in order to catch buses to parks although travel time and connections are not all that convenient.
