Just got laid off.

I've been at this job for 3 1/2 months. I love my job. I got called in to the VP of finance's office this afternoon and was told they are keeping me until 12/15. Merry Christmas to me. They'll understand if I leave earlier though if I find something. Since I haven't been here long enough, I don't get severence or anything. I guess I'll spend sometime calling employment agencies.

Well, at least they gave you warning. Around here they give you 15 minutes to pack your desk before being escourted out of the building. 3 weeks notice is unheard of!

So sorry to hear of your layoff. I have been down that road. I received my layoff notice via Federal Express the same day I had my carpal tunnel surgery. I found out before my co-workers that our office was closing. DD came in one morning, everyone called in the conference room. They were told they were laid off effective immediatly. Allowed to gather personal belongings and escorted out the door.
