Just returned after a wonderful trip, even though we hesitated to go during Easter. Crowds didn't bother us at all and we really had no complaints about anything.
Now for the food...
Captain's Grille breakfast...we went for the menu items but when we saw the buffet we went for it. It was super fresh and everything was delicious. I could have eaten there every morning. It seemed a cut above some we've done in the past.
Raglan road for dinner...excellent and again, super fresh. We had scallop appetizer and it was cooked perfectly. Fish and chips were fresh and light (not greasy or that old oil taste you can get at some places). Chicken pot pie was the pie of the day and it was amazing. They used roasted chicken that was fantastic. Too full for dessert.
Coral Reef for lunch...amazing! Calamari appetizer was fresh, crisp, and flavorful (not just fried calamari and marinara sauce). Shrimp and grits were perfect. Seafood scampi also fantastic and flavorful. Seafood was fresh as could be. Too full for dessert.
Narcoosee's dinner...best meal of the trip. Mussels for appetizer were good but not special. Lobster bisque was A+...great combo of spices. Filet steak was like butter, and cooked to perfection. Grouper was also perfectly cooked and came on a medly of veggies with a sweet corn sauce that I'm still thinking about. Desserts were good, just very large and rich so we couldn't finish them.
Chefs de France for dinner...filet was very good. This dinner wasn't off the charts but did remind us of the food in Paris at pretty much any brasserie you'd go to. It wasn't bad, just not phenomenal like the other meals we had.
Biergarten for dinner...beer and entertainment never disappoints, but this was our least favorite meal. We always go there and love it but the word of the day for this meal was dry. Everything seemed dried out and kinda sad. We still had a good time.
Crystal Palace for breakfast...really delicious...everything. Service was great and again, we were impressed by how fresh and well cooked everything was.
The rest of our meals were quick service...Boardwalk bakery, Beach Club marketplace (kids loved the flatbreads), hurricane Hannah's (we were obsessed w the falafel pita), Pinocchio village house, and a couple of standard burger meals.
For what we paid for everything, the service and quality was outstanding. Everyone seemed at the top of their game with the exception of the Biergarten. Now back to losing the 5 pounds I gained!
