Did you guys just get the disney visa card current offer? It seems too good to pass up. I am astonished that they would offer these cheap rates when members can't get studios.
2BR @ HH is $99 for travel
10/31-11/23
11/26-12-31 and
vero is a studio for $99 from
8/29-9/2
9/6-11/23
11/04-12/19

I mean the points per night for hilton head for DVC members is 21-28 weekdays and
42-53-56-84 weekends

Vero's are 10-12 for weekdays 23-24 weekends.

I wish DVC could negotiate deals like this for us in other timeshares. Doesn't it seem odd that people paying cash could stay so cheap AND why don't they have "points sales" for us then?

Probably because they need the cash to pay for the non-DVC resort options HH members have chosen.

Point" sales wouldn't help with that and are probably not even possible under time share laws (Point sales might result in claims that Disney sold more points than there is time/space available in the resort).

Best wishes -

I GOT THE OFFER! WOW And I booked. When I made my ressie the cm couldnt beleive the price I was going to book with my points but not now cant pass this up 99$per nite 2 bed room cant wait to go.

They are offering the same deal for AP. Curious what a member discount rate would be for the same nights?

Sandy

A member discount is 25% off the rack rate.

These deals are the same ones they used to offer when they were selling the resorts. You could book at these rates if you agreed to attend a presentation. I wonder if they are gearing up to start selling points they've bought back?

I just checked on the DV websight. I did not see anything there. Did you receive a postcard? I have my parents staying 5 nights in an OV Inn room for 5 nights and they are staying elsewhere for the other 2 nights. They might stay @ Vero if I can get the other 2 nights for $99. If there is a code would you mind PMing me with the info. I would love to surprise them with another night or two!

I just pmed you the info. I booked HH yesterday and cannot believe the value!!! 2 bedroom villa for $99 I still cannot get over it!

These do seem like very good deals. I'm sure someone will compare these with our 25% discount. Unfortunately, this has always been the issue with the off-site resorts - they just are not the best value for your points (although this seems particularly skewed towards HHI this time). We were at HHI in March and loved it.

We have been wanting to go to HHI for a while now but we always seem to use up all of our points at WDW. I got the VISA offer in the mail Tuesday and rounded up some friends. It wasn't hard to convince DH or our friends to go for $99 per night.

Definitely the cash offer here is much better for those dates than using points. I booked a Fri/Sat stay at Vero for the middle of September that cost $150 for a 1-bedroom. The Visa offer apparently also discounts all the rooms. Using points for that weekend it would have been 43 +43 versus $333 cash including taxes. Not alot of value in using points when the offer is like that.

I got the offer too, and I can't wait to try out Hilton Head. It's perfect for us right now because we have a daughter who is moving to Charleton in 3 weeks.
A 2 bedroom for $99, what a great deal!

Hilton Head experts, what's the best airport to fly into?
:D :D

Are the Hilton Head Resort and Beach house pools open at Christmas time? For a price like that, I'd consider going at that time.

Savannah is best option.

As I am heading to Vero in a couple of weeks, I am interested in this also! I do not have the disney visa - do I need it? Am not staying at the resort Fri and Sat night but would for $99! Thanks!!

Hello: Doesn't irk some of you that they are selling rooms to no-members for less than you(members)? Why not make the same offer to us by decreasing the points required per night. Bugs me. Thanks

It is i the Fall Disney Rewards issue, page 8. Basically, you call CRO and ask for package code XLK using the Disney Visa. I expect that the Ocean View rooms will be higher than the $99 quote.

And, yes, Canadian Tom, it does irk me. But then again, if they can get cash for otherwise empty rooms, that reduces the expenses to DVC, thereby benefitting all of us, or at least those with HHI or VB as a home resort. I still don't think I'd go to HHI or VB during hurricane season, so I'd wait until November-December. Then again, this is such an awesome deal, the frugal yankee in me mighjt just make me check it out.

That is exactly my point of my OP. I too find it upsetting. It sort of devalues my points in a way. That is why I just booked using cash. If there was a poijnt sale I am sure we would jump on that even quicker.

Yes I had to reserve on my disney visa.

1) The are many who use their points at WDW at 7-months
2) This leaves open rooms.
3) A night without a guest is totally lost revenue.
4) Better to sell the room at almost any price.
5) As long as variable expenses are met, the rest is profit.
6) If they devalued the points, it has the opposite effect.
7) They fill more rooms at already sold points.
8) This is actually more of a loss than leaving the rooms empty.
