DH and I (without kids!) spent last week at our other timeshare in Orlando (always a 2 BR) and stayed two nights at the Animal Kingdom Lodge with points. The AKL is beautifully themed, and there is nothing like watching giraffes stroll past your balcony! However, it is still just a hotel room, and we left early because we felt crowded, and missed making our own coffee! I know this is an expensive way to use points, but it allows us to check out a different WDW resort each time we're there. Next time we'll be at the BWV for a week, with no side trips planned mid-week. Now that would be a VERY expensive way to use points!!

The parks seemed very uncrowded, but the heat was a record high!

I like to check out the others WDW resorts on the Fri and Sat when staying on points at a DVC resorts is too high - (besides then I can still use the codes...)

It's expensive to fly from here -- Sat. thru Sat. seems to be the best deal, so that's when we go. When we bought two timeshares, we thought our almost adult children would go with us, and we would take turns staying at both places (at the same time.) This year we left them home, and still had a baby-sitter stay with them...they are 18 and 20.....
