We really liked OKW. All the people were very friendly and helpful. Olivia's has good food and great service, however, it's a bit pricey for us. Food is good, though. Buttermilk pancakes this morning were really delicious.
DS had a great time at the pool slide. All in all it's a great resort.
Downfalls ?? I think one downfall to it is the way the resort is set up. We were in a studio. If you're not in a studio you don't really have to worry about this but the way the rooms are set up, the studio is actually the second bedroom off a 2 bedroom unit. They turn the 2 bedroom into a 1 bedroom and rent it as that and then the studio. There is a common door between the two that can be locked off from both sides. The problem with this is that if you have a very noise family on the other side of that door (which we had), there's only a door between you. You hear every bit of noise because that door goes between your bedroom and their living room space. Unfortunately, we had a family next to us that liked to come in at 10:30 in the evening and the had a very unruly child (or maybe children) that would run all over the place, try to open the door between the rooms and generally make a whole lot of noise. Then it appears that the family would let their little girl cry herself to sleep. She sounded small (except for her HUGE voice) and would scream at the top of her lungs until she fell asleep. It wasn't pleasant.
The resort was crowded because of the hurricane and we were lucky to get what we got. The staff was very accommodating, however, when we checked in because they originally had us in a smoking room. My son has asthma and simply cannot tolerate cigarette smoke. They basically pushed someone else out to accommodate us in a non-smoking room. We appreciated it.
All in all, it's a great place to stay. The buses are usually a 10 minute wait. If you want to go faster, walk to the Hospitality House if you're near there. It's the last stop before exiting the park. Otherwise, you have to snake your way around the whole resort which can take a bit of time before exiting.
Also, it appeared our bathroom had not been cleaned as there was poop on the toilet seat. I know I should have called the main desk but I just cleaned it and got on with things. We did overhear another couple talking about the state of disrepair of their unit. They could not be moved either because the resort was full.
We'd certainly stay again, however, not in a studio unit. You'll love it. Besides, you're at Disney and it's pretty hard to have a bad day there, even when there's a hurricane !!
