Just got back! Character restaurant reviews

Edited to add....we actually did 4 character meals! LOL

We did 4 character restaurants. 1900 Park (B-fast), Crystal Palace (Lunch) and Ohana (B-fast) and CRT (Lunch)

Crystal Palace by far was the worst. The food wasn't good at all (I just ended up eating a salad and a small piece of flank steak). The character interaction wasn't that great either. Tigger barely even played the part. Our waiter was VERY nice though. I don't think we'll go back there.

1900 Park was the BEST! Amazing character interaction and they REALLY played the part. The Mad Hatter was awesome as was Alice and Tigger (he hopped and hopped with DS who is 4). They loved it! The food was very good too. We will return for sure and I would highly recommend it Service was very good here too.

Ohana was really, really good too. Lilo was a total sweetheart! Food was really good there too. Kids loved the bread with the white icing! Service was good. Not great, but good.

CRT was average. They had a spicy chicken chowder which was VERY good. I had some fish over pasta. It was ok. It was a "meatier" fish then I usually like (more like sword fish). DH had the fried chicken and said it was "ok". Our server was very good here too. We will most likely still do this meal again b/c youngest DD loves to eat in the castle and the princesses were pretty good. Ariel was the best one. DD even got some "alone time' with her on the way out

We've done these 4 but for breakfast only. I agree that 1900 PF is fabulous! Bummer about CP - it is one thing if the food is good but the service is spotty - if the food is not great it is such a waste of so much $.

We also love the breakfast at 1900 PF, but a big part of that was on our visit, my DD was selected to help Mary open the door and then was led to our table hand in hand with Mary, the highlight of her trip.

The food was great also and good interaction with the characters. This July we'll be trying out the PF dinner buffet, hoping for just as good of a character experience, especially since they are all face characters.

1900 Park Fare is one of my favorite character places. We ate dinner there one evening and one of the evil step sisters came running through and grabbed my oldest son (about 8 at the time) and danced around with him in the middle of the room. He was so embarrassed.. it was the best!

I think breakfast might be safe. Breakfast is pretty straight forward. Mickey waffles, pancakes, eggs, sausage.....I think most people on here would agree that the breakfast is generally good. I personally don't think the lunch was worth it though.

Glad to hear 1900 Park Fare was good, we're trying it for the first time this trip. We're also trying Crystal Palace but for breakfast...we're not really picky about breakfast so hopefully it won't be too bad. We love Ohana's..a must do every trip!!

I agree with CRT. Give CP another try though. It is one of our favorites. We go for dinner. We really enjoy the food and have had absolutely wonderful character interaction. The last time we were there, my son was asleep in his stroller. Eeyore pretended to sit on him like he didn't see him and the rest of the kids laughed hysterical, he then pushed him around the restaurant for a bit. They kids love the parade too.

Hope you dont mind. We just got back too from a week at the Poly and I had some opposite experiences from you.

We loved CP...our first time there. Liked the made to order omlets, eggs, and just the restaurant itself. It was a bit chaotic, but fun and met all the characters quickly too.

We went to Chef Mickeys, loved that too, no complaints for breakfast.

HATED OHANA and had a miserable experience, waited over 1 hr for ANY character to come to us (after finishing eating, waiting to pay, etc). I had to complain to mgmt, worst experience by far and I will NEVER go back. It was frustrating and sad for my DC to keep being passed by the characters (who even paraded around the restaurant 2 times while never coming to the tables by us (us and others). Very frustrating to say the least, my blood was boiling.

Loved CRT...we went for breakfast and I cant say enough good things about it. One of the best things we did on the trip.

1900 Pk Fare has always been one of our favorite character breakfasts. Over the years it hasn't changed that much (food or characters) which is kinda nice. Things are always changing and many times not as good as it "Used to be" but this place just seems to be consistently good at breakfast. A wonderful assortment of GOOD food and the characters actually spend some time with you.

Sorry to hear CP was a bad experience especially at lunch. We found lunch to be very good there yet breakfast and dinner not so much...so maybe lunch is starting to go downhill too? Or maybe it was a bad day?

Good to hear O'Hana has improved as it was not that great a few years back but seems like it's change since then.
