Would love to hear your opinions on Boma and 50's....
You might just have to post a full food report:D :D

Thanks in advance

Would love to hear about 50's Prime Time Cafe. We went when it was brand new and the teasing was very fun. Do they still act like mom or cousin and give people a fun time???

Happy to answer your questions:

50’s Prime Time Café:

Our waitress was “Sister Jen” – and although she was low key – she had a great repoire with her tables. She constantly complained that she was left doing the laundry and her work never seemed to end. There was a large table with a family of about 8 and their waiter was “Uncle Dave”. A little boy about the age of 7 or 8 named Kevin was celebrating his birthday and Uncle Dave picked him up and told everyone in our section that it was ‘cousin Kevin’s Birthday” and could we all sing to him. So we did- the whole section and Uncle Dave had a cake with a candle that Kevin blew out. We all clapped. The look on this little boy’s face was priceless! Uncle Dave then passed a birthday card around for all of us ‘cousins’ to sign. We really had a great time. There was lots of yelling by some of the other waitresses– "don’t run in the kitchen" – "call if you are going to be late" and a little scolding for not eating all the veggies – but all in good fun.

My husband and I had the Chicken Pot Pie, which was excellent – and very filling. The Pie was $12.99 each, an order of onions rings $4.49 and two iced tea $4.00 and two coffee $$4.00 for a total of 40.78 including tax.

BOMA:

We had a PS for 10:45 AM, which is one of the last PS's of the day as the restaurant closes at 11:00 AM and does not open again until dinner. Since we were at the Animal Kingdom this day – we thought this was the perfect opportunity to try Boma’s as well. I am glad we did – the buffet was really good with a good selection of all Breakfast/brunch type food such as cereals, breads, fruit, scrambled eggs, bacon and omelet made to order. As well, there were several African foods such as flatbread and a few others that escape me at the moment. One of the highlights is the house fruit-juice made from about five different juices including pink lemonade – really refreshing. The bill came to about $38.00 for two people including coffee. We thought this was well worth it.

Fulton’s Crab House:

We had the following appetizers; Escargot and Fried Calamari
For the entrées we had; Gulf Shrimp and Dungeness Crab Cake,
Fulton's Cioppino and the Grouper.

Although the food was good, we felt it to be a bit over priced for the quality. The total bill came to approximate $178.00 for four people and this included one drink each and two appetizers split between four.

We really enjoyed both Boma and Prime Time - however the prime time was expensive - it is a real experience. Fulton's was okay and I don't think I would eat there again.

Cheers,

Kim

Kim - I would love the details on Victoria and Alberts, as I am dining there for the first time next week. Thanks :)

Great reviews, thanks for the info on 50's, I'd hoped it was still playing the little act for people. We're hoping to go again soon.

I'd really like to hear your experience @ Jiko's and Marrakesh. I'll be dining at both in about 2 weeks!

Thanks,
Katherine

Hi Mamakate:

We loved Marrakesh! The food was really great and we really liked the atmosphere of the restaruant as well. Live music and entertainment was great - the belly dancer was lively. The restaurant was full - which was great to see and the service was very attentive. All in all a great restaurant. We would definitely eat there again.

We had the Royal Feast - which consisted of :
Assorted Moroccan salads, Chicken Bastilla, Seafood Bastilla, Roast Leg of Lamb Meshoui, Lemon Chicken, Couscous with Seven Vegetables and Crepes Atlas for $29.95 per person. We finished this off with a Moroccan coffee ( very strong expresso).

The total bill came to $77.49 for two people - we left very satisfied.

Jiko - while not as entertaining - and the atmosphere was quite noisy, the food was well prepared and very good. We had a very busy day and unfortunately did not get into the mood of this restaurant as much - nothing to do with the quality it was just our mood. I am sure you will enjoy this restaurant as well.

Cheers,

Kim:)

Since you had a late seating for breakfast at Boma, how did you feel the quality of the food was?? My bf and I will not be early risers on vacation. I just wanted to make sure we would be satisfied with our food if we get a late breakfast seating.

I had a late breakfast there recently, we arrived minutes before the 11:00 cutoff time with no PS. No problem with food quality or quantity. Actually, it was quite nice because the noise level dropped dramatically as the restaurant cleared out. We were the last diners out and they were just starting to clear away the buffet. They won't rush you. ;)
If this is your first time at the AKL, be sure to stop & take in the sights, smells & sounds of this exotic place. Enjoy!

Dansyr:

We arrived at 10:45 AM which was the last available PS at BOMA's and the restaurant still had quite a few people dining. However it was nice and quiet, and the food was still fresh and very good. I never noticed anything that looked stale or like it had been left out to long. Even the scrambled eggs were good! You could also still get a fresh omlete made if you wanted.

All in all it was a great experience, and we did not feel rushed at all. We will definitly go back to BOMA again.

Uncleromulus: I have provided a seperate review of V & A's today.

Cheers,

Kim :bounce: :Pinkbounc
