Had a quick weekend stay and the campground looked GREAT but it sure was empty. Don't know if it is due to time of year or storms.

500 loop had 1 camper.

1200 and 1300 loops were blocked off.

1600, 1700 and 1800 loops were blocked off.

Almost looks like nothing happened to the grounds.

Parks weren't overly crowded either.

Hungry mosquitoes at the movie.

Wish we could have been there! I only homeschool one child so we can't pick up and go. Sorry to hear the 'skeeters were out; did you forget to put your bounce sheet in your pocket? LOL!!

I hate to hear that the crowds were low. FL could sure use the tourism $'s right now.

As much as we hate crowds, it kind of spooky when FW is low on guests. We were there last Sept I believe, when the 700 loop was being redone and the 1200 loop was also being worked on and it felt kind of weird. Of course that weekend it filled right up.

Going south soon and will hit FW for a couple of days, hope somebody is there.

Glad to hear FW looked great! It amazes me how quickly Disney can clean up a mess. Hmmm... I wonder if they could stop by my house on a weekly basis?

My brother was there on Fri. and Sat. this past weekend, and he said the same thing John did about the low occupancy in FW. He said the roof is still being put on Pioneer Hall, but like someone said in another thread, didn't know if that was due to damage or just normal upkeep. Also, he didn't see any peacocks, but that could have been because he was there for such a short time. He said one or two stands of trees looked just a little thinner, but overall the campground looked great. Like plutospup said, it is amazing how quickly they can clean up! My brother and I think they are like ants after an anthill is stepped on...they don't stop to fret over it, they just get to work to fix it! (And no, we don't go around stepping on anthills just to see! :teeth: )

Glad to hear everything is looking good. We have less than 5 weeks to go and are anxious to see the campground. I hope they open up more of the pet loops before we get there.

Hmmm...I bet the hurricanes have kept people at bay. I wouldn't be happy in high winds with my pop-up. That said, we are going to be in Fort Wilderness in 3 weeks (in our pop-up). We belong to DVC and our home is the Beach Club Villas...this is quite a switch, but Honest Injun I am equally as excited. By the way, our camper also feels like a "home away from home."
