Just got a quote back and am totally SHOCKED at the price!

lovedisnleyland that is great
Does anybody know what the crowds are like in WDW. Why I am asking because people are comparing the prices it looks cheaper in WDW but what about the crowds. And when is the best time to go there

I was considering switching from DLH to GCH for our May trip. But I just can't justify the cost right now. I love the DLH anyway, so it's okay. But yeah the GCH rates are a bit crazy!

I'd never stay offsite again, too many poor experiences. Besides I do think the perks that you do get with staying onsite are worth it. But I do think the GCH should come down a bit! Every time I want to stay there I end up changing my mind after I look at the price! So DLH it is.

Just checked the rates for a family of 6, 6 nights, standard room(s) with park view....$7100+.

Well, the upside to crazy prices like that is it's much easier to justify the cost of a Disney Cruise. ;)

I just priced 7 nights on DCL for a family of 6 in two oceanview staterooms and it was just under $6100

Of course you'd have to look at additional costs with both vacations, but as much as I love DL, given similar price tags, I'm cruisin' baby!

I have 2 teens that will jot get on a plane after 911. Crusin has its perks, but unfortunately, the rides are what we go for.....they seem to like the luxury(will be interesting to see if they like the GC.

I hear you OP, even to stay at the PP is so expensive now. We really want to go to DL, we live on the Westcoast (vancouver), but even with greatly increased airfaire its cheaper to go all the way to Orlando where they have more hotels and they are almost all less expensive.

While this is true, the tickets are $100 more a piece at WDW, so you technically would be able to afford $250 a night at DL where it would only be $150 a night at WDW to balance it out!!

You could stay in a good neighbor hotel right across the street for much less.

We've been to WDW the past two Thanksgivings. Crowds were large on the Wed before Thanksgiving and on Thanksgiving Day, but otherwise it was very manageable. The nice thing there is that you can switch parks during the day and so if one is crowded, you just take the bus to another.

I've heard that good times to go are October, November, early December, January, but the parks get a lot of business all year long. I guess it depends on what kind of weather you prefer and if you want longer hours or not. We like the holiday parades and fireworks that are available during the more busy times.

We have had a great time there. Thinking of DL this year but the GCH prices are outrageous!

I too recently got a quote for Disneyland and it made me laugh out loud! Here is the scoop:

We live in Oregon (you know, the state directly North of California :lmao: ) and there is me (36) and two sons (14 and 11).

Option 1: A trip to Disneyland Anaheim for the 3 of us for 4 nights, roundtrip airfare, 3 three day park hoppers, hotel at a neighborhood hotel (Clarion was the one a picked) and airport transfers total: $1,700 +/- a few bucks and that was on Alaska Airlines w/ one kid flying for "free".

Option 2: A trip to Disney World Orlando for 3 of us for 7 nights/8 days including Magic Your Way base tickets for 6 days (good to all 4 parks) + water park feature, roundtrip airfare to Orlando, 7 nights on Disney property at Pop Century Resort and Magical Express airport transfers total: $2,000 +/- a few bucks.

It's a better deal to fly across the country!! For $300 more we get 3 additional nights and we stay on Disney property (which means extra magic hours and free transportation). Crazy if you ask me!

That would explain why we have been to Disney World every year since 2000 but not to Disneyland since 2001.
