I just found out I am pregnant. We have a trip planned in November. Can anyone out there tell me I won't die?????? I know there is a lot of walking and that doesn't bother me too much. There will be 11 of us so I don't want to cancel our Grand Gathering. WIll I still be able to have fun?

Is there anyone here that has done Disneyworld pregnant? Any tips are appreciated!

HELP!

I JUST FOUND OUT ALSO 3 MONTHE HERE I HAD TO REBOOK MY CRUISE FOR NEXT DEC +1 MORE THEN REARRANGE MY DISNEY TRIP TO JUST STAY AT DISNEY A LITTLE BUMMED OUT OVER THAT BUT HAPPY ABOUT THE OTHER DAUGHTER IS JUST UNHAPPY-LOL

i've been to wdw pregnant twice. first time in sept '01 when i was 8wks along. very doable. a bit of morning sickness but i took it easy.

i just went again last month at 6 months. not really tough at all, it was very hot so i drank tons of water. we took afternoon breaks due to the heat, my pregnancy and my 2 yr old LOL

just avoid the obvious rides and you'll have a great time! we had a blast both times. :)

congrats!

I have - TWICE! And I'm planning the third time now! If you have a chance go to allearsnet.com and take a look at the expectant mom page. I had a great time, and did trips at 5ish months and one at 7 1/2 months. We are not park commandos, so that helped. I enjoyed strolling, riding everything that did not have a "restriction" notice and spending time in the pool. That was the best part, it relieved the stress on my lower back like nothing else can!

Congratulations!!

I went to DL when I was 8 weeks pregnant and did everything including Indy and Space Mtn. I went to WDW a couple months later and skipped all the thrill rides. I kept my DH company in line and then took the "chicken" exit proclaiming "I'm not chicken, I'm pregnant!" to the CMs since I wasn't really showing that much. The only ride I went on with "restrictions" at WDW was the safari since it's just a bit bumpy.

Congrats!!!!! I went when pg at about the same time-found out I was pg beginning of August, went to Disney in November. It's a great time in your pg to go away-after morning sickness has ended and before you're huge and miserable, lol!!!

Congrats again!!!! Always nice to hear exciting news like that. All the best!!!!!

Congrats!! I have been to Disney both times I was preg. The first time I had just found out and the second I was about 3 months. Both times it was in the summer. Make sure you watch the signs for the rides. Take your time walking and drink a lot of water. Good luck and have fun!!

Yeah!!

You should be out of that morning sickness phase by then, if you even have it at all. 4-6 months is such a fun time. I am sure you will feel more tired than usual but just plan on that and enjoy yourself! You're pregnant, not handicapped. Have a blast! It will definately be extra memorable!

Congratulations!!

My wife is now over 6 months pregnant and she is full of energy and still goes walking everyday.

She did have some issues with energy and needing lots of sleep for the first 3 months but after that she perked right up again

I went 2 times, at 8 weeks and 6 months. Surprisingly, all morning sickness stopped when I was at Disney but promptly returned when I came back  We went in Oct and Feb, so the weather was on the warm side, but I had no problems keeping up with my then 2yo. At 8 weeks I went on the Safari, the raft ride, and Indy Speedway without any problems. At 6mo, I went on the Safari.

Congratulation and enjoy your trip to WDW!

thanks for all of the advice! We are very happy to be expecting #2. It's just a little earlier than planned. Your advice is really helpful. We decided to rent a car this time which I think will be helpful.

Thanks!

I also went pregnant with both of my children. With my daughter (now 3) I was 3 months, and my son (now 3 weeks) I was 33 weeks along and we went for 10 days. I had a blast both times. I drank lots of water and took an hour long nap every afternoon. I actually did much better than my husband who moaned and groanded about his feet and back all week!! Just pace yourself and you will be fine. Have a great time :)

Congrats!!
I just wanted to add to you to make sure you don't go too long without eating/snacking on something. Eating alot of snacks inbetween meals helps fight nausea. Travel everywhere with some snacks! I was 3 months pregnant with DD and went to WDW in July! I was so sick, hot and tired. It really was bad for me. I'm the type that has all day sickness when pregnant and it lasts 6 months!! It happened like that for both kids! So, my advice is to take it slow, snack alot, drink alot and skip rides with restrictions. Swimming should feel great for you! Also, Nov. is a great time to go, not too crowded or hot. You should do fine. If you do have nausea, and/or morning/all day sickness, a little trick I learned to help relieve it is lemons! Yes, lemons. Carry a half a lemon and suck on it when you feel naseous. Believe me, it works and was the only thing that helped me. Hopefully you won't need it! Oh, and yes you will have fun and won't die, LOL!!!

You can tell this is a board full of Disney addicts by the number of us who went to WDW pregnant not just once but TWICE! Count me among the crazies! :wave2:

Ist time was July and kind of hard. It was hot and crowded and my feet hurt. I remember barely making it to our car after Illuminations, and we were as close as you can get! It's just that there's so much walking at Epcot.

2nd time was March and it was better.

I rested when I needed to and planned a shopping/pool/rest day for me & MIL. Our group of 6 had 2 cars so we were able to split up. We were offsite that trip.

Congrats & have fun!

We went to WDW and a Disney Cruise when I was 12 weeks pregnant. I made sure to tell my ob/gyn before we left. He said that the only things I couldn't do would be to get a spa treatment and to sit in the hot tub -- both due to the excessive heat. His take on the ride restrictions was that it was more for Disney's protection than mine. I didn't go on anything too wild, since DD was only 29 months old, but it was nice to have my Dr's blessing if I did decide to indulge.

It was cute; my grandparents-in-law (who joined us for a day) expressed concern when I went on Dumbo! It was great to be able to say that my Dr said it was OK.

I was lucky and had gotten over the morning sickness by the time we went. I just made sure to snack, snack, snack and I did fine. I hope you have a similar experience.

Have fun and congratulations!

I've gone twice also. Once at 5 months and another at 4 months with WDW and the cruise. My OB didn't restrict me from anything - I didn't ride anything that had the "no pregnant" sign.
Take lots of breaks and drink lots of water.

Congratulations.

I went several times when i was pregnate...(we're annual pass holders)....there wasa no problem, besides having to stop for the restroom and snaking every 10 min....the last time I went before the baby, I was 9 1/2mos....going on rides were not a problem, I even went on Indy and BTM! The signs posted only suggest not to ride the rides if expecting, for their protection....but I don't see, as long as you're in good health, any problems with going and enjoying yourself and the rides....but I would recommend you ask your ob first...
Congratulations with your new arrival and have fun!::MinnieMo
