THIBODAUX, La. --A medical student who blindfolds his friends to keep his favorite offshore fishing spot secret

has come up with a record-beating fish -- a Warsaw grouper weighing 359.1 pounds. The giant hauled in by J.J.

Tabor of Thibodaux is 12 ounces above the previous Louisiana state record, a state biologist confirmed.

"It’s been cut down to fillets. The first fillet weighed 53 pounds," Tabor said. He caught it near an oil rig 70 miles

south of Fourchon, in 400 feet of water. He won’t give a more specific description.

I saw one that big once in the canal behind the 300 loop. I remember it like it was yesterday. I had just finished a pitcher of kungaloosh, when I saw this UFO come down behind the trees. I went to investigate, and a bigfoot jumped out from behind a tree and scared me so bad I tripped and fell into the canal. And that's when I saw the fish.

You are very welcome. Now you just need to catch the one DaveInTn saw in the canal behind the 300 loop.

Holy Cow!!!!! Thats BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! I wonder how he tasted......he's gotta be one OLD fish! Maybe I should take a quick ride over to Thibodaux (Tib-a-doe) and stalk this good ol'boy on his next boating trip!

Think of the history that fish probably lived through to get to that size - maybe decades old? How long do fish live?

From what I've read, the warsaw grouper lives uo to 40 - 45 years,,,and thats a long time for a swimmer :thumbsup2

Man, if that thing is worm free that is about $4,000 worth of fish.. I'd had a grin on my face too. How did they ever get it in the boat?

I'd bet it took one big nightcrawler to entice that fish to bite the hook.
