Well, MAGGIMUS and everyone--I just finished writing my vows!! I mean, uh, OUR vows.

Not to rub it in Maggie--and how is that coming, anyhow? but I am DONE DONE DONE! :cheer2:

Granted, self-praise is faint praise, but I think I did a great job of incorporating who-we-are and what-we-want-to-say while retaining the spirit and meaning of the traditional vows.

I have to say, of all the Things I Have To Get Done, this one was the most dreaded, and ended up being the most enjoyable. Plus, I really got some time to spend thinking about the vows and what they mean, you know?

Okay, I'm ready to get married! December 14th---hurry up!! :hourglass

Congratulations!!! That is a task we have yet to tackle. And to be honest, it is extremely intimdating... I don't know what to say. We are saying our traditional vows and then saying our own vows... so it's really just an admission of our love, blah, blah, blah...

Any advice?

AHH!! I wish you hadn't asked that. I feel like something is bound to go wrong. I am so close and in so much stress. I cant get ahold of REV JACK DAY- Wont return my e-mails, etc. And im starting to worry about other things... like:
Carolyn Allens.... I havent spoken with them since our initial contact in the beginning. (MONTHS AND MONTHS AGO) - What if they booked over me or dont remember.
same thing with...
Lisa's Magical Weddings- I havent talked to Lisa in probobly 2 months. Im getting scared that im forgotten about by everyone.
I cant get the reverend to get back with me...lol I hope this doesnt turn out to be one big mess.... wouldnt that make for a good trip report (went to disney- spent thousands of dollars for a wedding- and had to get married at the court house)
:scared1: Im starting to feel the burn!

happylalagirl: It is intimidating! I felt like I had a term paper/oral report due next week, but I hadn't picked a topic yet!

And for pete's sake! I am a writer! So I should have been like, oh, no problem. HA!

My advice: Since you are going with the traditional ceremony, use that as a template to add in your own bit of personality. I found it worked best for me to type out the entire ceremony, and I combined a few different ceremony bits (still following the flow of a traditional ceremony) into one for us. Since Rev. Day doesn't know us like our own pastor would, I took the liberty of writing some things into the homily that we feel about marriage, commitment, and life.

Is Rev. Jack Day marrying you? If not, did you get some ceremony options from whomever is?

If you are interested, PM me and I will send a copy of what I wrote so you can see what I mean about the personalization while following the ceremony order and flow.

LOL, Maggimus! Feel the burn! And if anyone drops the ball, make them feel the burn! :furious:

Okay, girlfriend. Take a deep breath. Come sit by me, I'll hold your cyber hand, and then in another month when I get like this (and I KNOW I will) you can hold my hand.

Call your wedding coordinator ASAP and ask if she knows anything about Rev. Jack. Is he ill? Out of town? Tell her you are super stressed because you haven't been able to reach him, and she will put a bug in his ear.

As for Carolyn Allens and Lisa--call them if you need to confirm for your peace of mind. I would bet they are good to go. Listen, I read on the other boards to confirm all our ADRs at Disney before we leave, because sometimes they get things wrong. It never hurts to double check. Call them, and then go for a walk, get a massage, and/or take some deep abdominal breaths.

If that doesn't work, get drunk at ten am. Ha ha ha...just kidding! No alcohol! Makes you all puffy! :bride:

No kidding- I need SOMETHING :badpc: . I just called Rev Jack again, left a message. He will hate me by the time this is over with- but surely im not the only pestering bride out there. I have e-mailed everyone else again for piece of mind.... hopefully will hear something soon (im very impatient at this point so if i dont hear within the next two days ill be calling again). With Rev Jack Day I dont even give him that long- im freaking out. I havent called his mobile yet because I want to know also that we are confirmed for that date- and he probobly doesnt carry his little black book with him. Things will look up -- i hope :rolleyes1 . :thanks: for the support... i need it right now.

Maggs, you already have *piece* of mind--what you need is *peace* of mind. Ha ha ha ha--I crack myself up.

You will have to do what I do--begin a period of rapid escalation if you don't start getting what you need. Example: today I will email Rev. Jack. Tomorrow I will email him and call his business line. The next day, I will call his cell, business, and email him. Following that, I will call my WP, call his cell, business line, and email him. If that doesn't work, I will call Michael Eisner, the Pope, and call Rev Jacks cell phone every ten minutes. No results: contact the FBI, and buy a plane ticket for Orlando. :moped:

Evil, huh? :)

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: That was a good laugh. I like the idea of calling Michael Eisner and the pope.. :lmao: - im almost to the point of that! I hate to call my WP but... sheesh. Ill give him until tonight- if nothing tomorrow i will certainly be sending out the helicopters. Thanks for the good laugh
