Just Curious

I am from a resort area and I know quite a few of the local campgrounds have people who "live" there seasonally - often for years. I was just curious if Fort Wilderness is like that. Does it have a lot of "snowbirds" who stay for the whole winter - or does Disney restrict the amount of time you can stay? I'm just curious. I know that the campgrounds around here are full of small communities of people who have camped there for years. My first trip to FW will be in a cabin in Feb - but I bet it would be a GREAT place to spend the winter. Thanks for any replies to my nosiness.

Hi, we (my husband, 2 sons and me) go to Disney around the same time every year, anywhere from October to December; and each year we see a few Motorhomes/RVs that are always there. So, apparently there are some lucky folks who spend a good deal of their winters there. As far as restricting the time you can stay - I'm not too sure, but we've been told by fellow campers that they did have to move from one site to another after about 30 days. Hoping we can do that one day - when we retire.

Yes FW has a seasonal rate if you go to to the bike barn you will see mail boxes. We have talk to CM that live at FW Dec-March. Most of them live up north and come down for the winter.

We just returned today from a 3 day trip and saw MANY campers that had set up a homestead! You could tell the ones that were there to stay for a while. I was so jealous. : )
