Just curious what do you set your thermostats' on in the winter

21C unless it's really cold then I up it..and my DH lowers it...and then I up it...and he again lowers it...and so it goes...you get the idea! I am always cold..unless it's the middle of the night or a personal spa moment hits me (!!!)...and he is ALWAYS hot!

Ugh

19 C for the day, 20 for when it gets REALLY cold, and we put it down to 18 at night cause we are all snuggly in our beds! NEVER put it any higher than 20 C - I'd rather wear a sweater and save my self some $$$$$!! ;)

EDIT..... JUST WANTED TO SAY THAT WE HAVEN"T ACTUALLY TURNED ON THE FURNACE YET!!!!! TURNED IT OFF SOMETIME IN APRIL AND HAVEN"T TURNED IT BACK ON YET!!! MIGHT BE GETTING CLOSE THO...... ;)

Saving that $$$ for Disney no doubt! ;)
We keep ours to 19C, with overnight down to 17C. Used to have it down to 14C before kids, but we share a bed and keep each other warm, kiddies don't.

We usually don't turn our on until the bitter end and we absolutely have to!!
During the day it's 20.5 to 21 - I do daycare and have kids in the house all day and at night it goes down to about 19.
We're like minnie56 - I raise it, dh lowers it, I raise it, dh lowers it. Yet he's always the one that complains it's too cold!!

20.5 unless it's cold. Then 21.5 in the winter and 22 if it's a cold snap. I use the gas fireplace a lot also. Thank goodness I bought parkas early this year. The kids have been wearing theirs every day to school here in Calgary we have had some snow also.:sad2:

Overnight and when I'm at work I set it at 15.
When I'm up and about at home I set it at 19.

Brrrrrr, it's cold here in Edmonton!! I broke down and turned it on about a week ago. Usually keep it around 21 degrees. Use our gas fireplace a lot too....if that's on, it heats the house pretty hot, so I usually turn down the heater to 15 deg if I have the fireplace on.

A good average for us is 21 deg though!

Usually 21/22.

We don't turn it down at night.. I hate being cold during the night.

I keep it at 21, but if its not too cold out, I will use the gas fireplace on the main floor to keep it warm but does not warm the upper two floors though, but thats what blankets are for.

thanks all :goodvibes

With this early winter weather in Calgary I had to put my furnace on last week too! :confused3

drag n'fly - snow in Sept SUCKS! looks like we are going to get more this morning... :sad1:

I set it for 19 in the day and 17 at night and DH complains. The man is never happy. Too hot in the summer, too cold in the winter.

I run a very hot personal furnace - always have. Not looking forward to those "personal spa moments". Love that phrase minnie56. I shall steal it for future reference. :rolleyes1

Looks like I am the oddball. 22C day & night

That would be my dream! But I responsibly keep it at 21C (cost and energy waste), which is still comfortable enough with my flannel pyjamas, but my hands get cold in front of the TV/computer. We have electronic programmable thermostats, and used to go down to 18C at night, but I felt that our baseboards would work overtime in the morning, not saving really anything.

we have a programmable theromostat. when we are at home it is set to 22 and to 19 at night. daytime when we are at work and school it goes down to 19. This spring we replaced our furnace with a high efficiency furnace. It will be interesting to see if we save any $$$.

Southwestern Ontario here and we keep ours at 23. This year is a test since we just moved, our old house wasn't very energy efficient. We've already had the furnace on a couple times, it was 19 this morning. I did try a test last winter when DW and DSx2 were visiting her parents. Every night I would bring it down another degreeC. 15 was my threshold and I can safely say never again :lmao:

18 at night and 19 during the day...if everyone is complaining, then I move it to 20 during the day.

16 at night and when everyone is at work/school and then 19 the other times........we do use our wood fireplace alot. If we set ours any higher our gas bill is over $400 so we use sweaters, electric blankets and the fireplace..........

20. I find I can't sleep at night if I try to program the thermostat for lower at night.

Wow-I would freeze at some of these temps..I have my gas fireplace on now but no furnace on yet.

I like a comfortable house...but I feel the cold.:confused3

Most of the time lol...
