"Why wasn't it magical?"...let me explain it to you.
A) We're DVC members and checked in to OKW. We were assigned to a 2BR villa right on Bonnett Creek Pkwy (SO noisy)
B) Next morning went to Steakhouse 71 for bkfst. Food was just ok and the service was less than ok (1.5hrs for bkfst????)
C) Purchased Genie+ for MK that day. Had a 12:20 Haunted Mansion Lightning Lane, did that, then couldn't get another LL for a ride we wanted until 8:30 that night.
D) Crowds were INSANE at MK on Monday 12/7. We've gone to WDW this particular week 6 times previously because of the low crowds. Not this year!
E) We're more of a counter service family (Steakhouse 71 was our only sit-down for the week) and the need to mobile order everything doesn't suit us at all. We like to decide where/when/what we're going to eat on the fly. Most places don't let you just walk up to order.
F) Couldn't get a LL for "Rise of the Resitance at DHS on Tuesday 12/8. Had to do standby....160 minutes in line (For real)
G) Crowds at EPCOT on Thursday 12/9 were "Spring Break-like". I couldn't believe it. Most of the Festival of the Holidays treats that we were looking forward to were a no-go due the crazy lines at some many of the booths.
H) General park and character merchandise was short in supply and in quality.
That's the worst of it. Sorry to be such a Debby Downer, but WDW (on this trip) was not close the level that my family & I have come to expect. We have another trip booked for early October 2022 and I'm hoping some of these issues have been resolved by then....
