Just closed on 160 direct contract at grand Cali

I’m having second thoughts if I made the right decision. My guide sold me 160 grand Cali direct points at $310 a point. I know resale is lower but it would lock you out of staying at Disneyland villas hotel. I calculated it cost me about 14k more than going resale route and also gave me the blue card direct benefits. It’s too late for me to back out but I guess I’m looking for validation or if I made a 14k oopsies. Did I make the wrong choice ?? Do people regret going direct on aulani or other direct hotels ?
Hello! 👋🏻 New here I can across your posting when I searched Grand Cal direct buying. We are not currently DVC members…hopefully next year 🤞🏻🤞🏻 I was wondering if you can send me your guide info on the side.
I have no clue how to direct message haha

I have sooo many questions haha.. we live about 15 hours away and the choice between the two VDL VGC.

I havent seen this person on the boards in awhile. If you want a guide in CA there are some. My guide is virtual and he is a very knowledgeable.

My guide Noelle Darden made miracles for us. She is a hustler so you can try her too, she told me about vgc going on sale next month and asked if we were interested. She offered us something that no other guide did, we would not be direct right now if it wasnt for her

If you're trying to decide between VDH direct and VGC direct....the price different is large.

With incentives, you can get points at VDH for $190 or so per point (maybe more, maybe less, depending upon how many you get and if you utilize magical beginnings.) With VGC, there are no incentives so they will run you $330 per point.

So if you do the math on, say....150 points....
VDH = $28,500
VGC = $49,500

Of course, it will really boil down to which resort you'd rather stay at. Because with either one, you're always going to be better off booking closer to the 11 month mark.

I'm a little shocked the guides are sharing info about a sale for VGC that isn't live yet. That seems out of character seeing as most of the time they won't even acknowledge anything but the current sale.

Agree, that sounds like crazy talk.

I always get the speech about how they will be in trouble for discussing anything outside of what is currently for sale today and already released details from DVD. If I nudge them for new resorts or incentives yet to come, every guide I've spoken to (around 6) has shut that down immediately.

I bought 2400 points at OKW from Bill. He said I put one of his kids through college.

Maybe since its not going to carry any incentive it's not as big of a deal.

Who knows? But it is being openly discussed in person and via email (someone posted an email from their guide in another thread). We are here now, our guide emailed us when we arrived, and he told us all about the upcoming sale. We met with him and have a plan in place.

Yes I didnt even express any interest in vgc, I was just talking about Disneyland forward and trying to get info out of her about a possible third entrance like vgc and she told me that they cant confirm that, but they will be selling vgc starting in February for the June uy and if I was interested in purchasing she can help me with that. It was said very casually, I didnt know this was anything rare until people here said so

Yeah...when I mentioned LSL to the guide giving us a VDH tour he was like "I can't speak about that at all." I didn't even ask a question, I just mentioned that I didn't see us buying more WDW points anytime soon, though I do like the looks of LSL so far.

Because they know we all will run to DIS and tell everyone! 😂

Hmm, my VGC is a June Use Year, maybe it’s a sign to pick up some direct points. ;)
